2011 TxMC championship points standings

here's the points standings after H2R. First number is raw score, second includes 2 drops if available. With a total of 7 events, the most you can be scored on is 5. If you ran every event so far, then the second pts. total includes 1 drop. obviously, you have 5 or less events then 0 drops were used, that's why many have the same raw and drop scores.

Street Class

1st: Jake G. 26 26
2nd: Bill G. 20 20
3rd: Matt B. 16 16
4th: Quan P. 10 10 (tie)
4th: John E. 10 10 (tie)
4th: Sean ?. 10 10 (tie)
5th: Mike D. 8 8 (tie)
5th: Dustin C. 8 8 (tie)
6th: Kevin K. 6 6
7th: Brian S. 5 5

Modified Class

1st: Chris L. 20 20
2nd: Carter W. 18 18 (tie)
2nd: Jeff M. 18 18 (tie)
3rd: David H. 10 10
4th: Chung Y. 8 8

Unlimited Class

1st: John Z. 41 36
2nd: Trey R. 36 32
3rd: John R. 30 30
4th: John W. 26 26
5th: Dan L. 23 23
6th: Carter W. 10 10

Before round 5/6 @ H2R, Trey was leading unlimited by 1 point, Dan and I were tied for 2nd. J-wags was 3rd and John R. was 4th.

Modified has newcomer Chris L. jumping to 1st with Jeff and Carter tied although it's David H. that's the darkhorse in this class. He was fast at tws before and it's rumored he has some heavy artillery in store for Chris and Jeff.

In street, Jake has jumped to the top, but if Matt B makes the final event, he could derail the Jake and Bill train.

In the words of Big John Mccarthy, "let's get it on!"

jacob300zx 10-11-2011 10:51 PM

I'm taking street bitchz. There better be a big ass trophy waiting for me when I arrive at TWS.

spoolin2bars 10-11-2011 11:16 PM

Or, your dad says "NO, you can't borrow my car!"
Game over, dreams crushed.

jacob300zx 10-12-2011 02:17 AM

lol, than I steal my sister's miata. One way or another...its mine.

sixace 10-12-2011 03:41 PM

Sounds like a fun day, sorry I could not make it. So, we were tied for second and one point behind 1st, and it was decided to do an unanounced double points day with one event remaining?

Hey, it's your baby and you make the rules and do all the work, but I would suggest reconsidering what effect those decisions have on season points standings going fwd into next year. Imagine if SCCA and NASA were to do something along those lines.

Anyways, good luck at TWS. You girls be careful and don't break any nails.

spoolin2bars 10-12-2011 03:57 PM

wasn't decided on until we knew they would change direction for us. Might feel bad if i thought it would have changed the attendance, but i don't believe it would have considering the forecast. also, that's what 2 drops are for.

John, 2 drops from 7 events is different from 2 drops from 8 events (unless 8 races are stated at start of series). Example:

'Iwannagoreallyfast' decides to play in the series. He decides to not attend msr-h and H2R events for whatever reason (work, pms, crabs, etc). He has two "0" scores to drop. No biggie, he's got five events to score in like everyone else.

Now suddenly, H2R becomes a double points event and he has another "0" goose egg hanging in his points. "Iwannagoreallyfast" now has his hopes and dreams crushed, goes psycho and brings hi-po semi to full auto weapons to final event and carnage ensues. Or worse, he calls a lawyer.

Or not. Nvrmind.

jacob300zx 10-12-2011 08:47 PM

Lol double lol

spoolin2bars 10-13-2011 01:24 AM

lawer for TxMC? lol, that would be awesome. what's the first rule of fight club? this is a no budget, guerilla tactics race series. nobody knows we're there. and the point is to become faster drivers. the trophies are an incentive to get people off they're asses and still nobody shows up. only a couple events a year have enough entries to pay for the trophies. then i have to ship them sometimes because nobody shows up to the next 3 events. add a few stickers, championship trophies, and i'm into this a few hundred dollars a year just to try and get people out there. I've never complained about it because i love racing, have a blast with friends, and want to go faster. and it's working, wether it's tips from someone or just the competition aspect of it, i'm evolving. so the lawer calling, gun toting guy can sux it, cuz i got nothing for him. i don't have a car in my name, a bank acct., nothing. but i do get my ass out to the events, one way or another, cuz it's my passion, not a mere hobby. That's the kind of TxMC peeps i wanna drive with.

*EDIT* reading it again, it sounds like a members only deal. so the following weekend, or if it's too up in the air, we will just do 2 TWS final events.

here it is:

I'm requesting a tip of the hat for "most miles * discomfort" by driving my car to every event, lol. It's hard work to burn up the highway without a back-eotomy.

You are covered, not sure how I missed that. Guess knowing I was not able to make it due to scheduling, I was bummed and not paying as much attention.

My concern was for future growth of TxMC, thinking from the outside as a current and/or future participant. I'm always thinking how best to grow the series and forget that it's not NASA/SCCA. It's a group of grassroots guys having fun with miatas.

Your job is not easy, and it's amazing how you stick with it. Please carry on, and accept my apology if you care to. :bowrofl:

none needed, it was a good point. rest assured it was taken into consideration.
you have been missed, come join us soon as you can. i know it's far from you, but if you can't make TWS next month, you gotta come to NOLA in New Orleans for new years. mid-south region is gonna be there and we will be reppin' Texas. Gonna be epic...

hustler 10-13-2011 02:03 PM

Dan and I can caravan to NOLA, I'm driving Green Glory all the way there. I may have to skip TWS.

GeneSplicer 10-15-2011 08:51 PM

Maybe us mid-south folk can get some momentum and caravan that way too - I'm jealous you guys have a challenge going on in Tx... Spoolin, I'll have to give you a call sometime to get your POV on putting the series together.

Louisiana is an "open-carry" state too I believe.

GeneSplicer 10-16-2011 05:16 PM

I'm down with both -open cary with a bottle and my .45 :) - so why am I not seeing NOLA on the Nasa schedule? Things looking good for coming on down - maybe with the wife :squint: but she'll hopefully hang with her friends and leave me alone.

I highly recommend not bringing your wife anywhere around me and my GF in general, we offend people.

GeneSplicer 10-16-2011 10:12 PM

Heh - if you talk like anything you post, I would agree with you :fawk: I'm certainly not the one to get offended, but yeah, she'd be better off playing with her friends, she hates the miata anyway as it sometimes takes her place. She doesn't like it when I'm drunk anyway. Found the NOLA on the nasatx, still TBD...

You know I have no problems open carrying. I might suck it up and come out to the NOLA event. It is only a 12 hour drive. I will have to see how busy I am at work and how much money I have.

I really need to start working the street corners to be able to afford this track addition.

I believe NOLA is still not paved, lol.

GeneSplicer 10-18-2011 09:00 PM

Tomorrow - but in this case next month - enter Stewart Paradox...

Actually, their website says the North track is 100% paved now... unlike AMP outside Atlanta...
Shuiend and I can tag up and caravan on down

shuiend 10-25-2011 03:28 PM

So how serious are you guys about going out to the NOLA event? It is a 13 hour drive for me and I would want to tow my car out if I am going that far. If there is actually going to be a large presence of the Texas crew I might suck it up* and splurge to come out**.

*Suck off guys on the street corner for gas money.
** come out of the closet.

spoolin2bars 10-25-2011 07:12 PM

you better get some lip gloss then. yeah, a bunch of us (texans) are going for sure. race/party/try to race is the schedule.

Well I guess I should start pestering family to let me borrow a truck of some sort to tow with, and then get to saving up gas money.

Is the sign up online yet? I looked at the NASA sight Monday and could not find it.

So will we have to submit to breathalizer tests in the morn? If so I'll probably fail. Bringing back bad memories of Sat morn at the Petit...

No sign-up yet - its on TX Region's site but can't register for it yet (but it's not saying TBD now) - doubt it'll be posted on NASA's site until it's 100% a go?

It's a 3-day event, what's the schedule for friday? TX doesn't have my TT paperwork, so I'll probably just do DE4

ckearns 10-27-2011 10:42 AM

Signs I saw at ECR last weekend have a 3 hour enduro on Friday, and Sat/Sun is DE/TT. Not sure if they'll be adding race groups to the schedule

I haven't seen full details on the weekend, however.

The question is, who wants mt.net rollbar decals?

spoolin2bars 10-27-2011 11:53 AM

it is 100% on. Our regions leader spoke to NOLA last week and they said they would be ready for sure. they're allowing the final layer to cure and will do a few test and tunes before we show up. We will be the first group to have an event there though.

we are going to be running the north track (long) 2.75mi. course. 16 Turns
3360' Straight, 40-50' Width

Any idea on a rough price estimate? I saw in one of the links a single track day there for $269. Hopefully doing 2 days is not that much more then that.

Also do you know if they have power hookups where we should be camping?

well that was probably for their own trackday. NASA is usually about $290 for the weekend.

don't have any details, but power at camping area is not the norm. people usually have rv's with generators or just pop tents. but who knows, this being a new track and all maybe they are that fancy.

GeneSplicer 10-27-2011 04:18 PM

Should be party of the year! Is this is a SE and TX event? If so then maybe TT it's in the works - if not, then maybe I should get paperwork in for the TX region so I can run with you big-boys - or at least try. At least we'll all be handicapped being a new track learning the line

spoolin2bars 10-27-2011 06:47 PM

yup, mid-south, se, and tx. you don't need all that, just sign up for your class. unless you plan on running the whole season in tx, we won't need your paper work. just get there.

in-car of the track: http://contour.com/stories/north-track-275mi-drive
