Default NEDiv autox-Divs at FedEx Field, DC

Bitches, the NEDiv Divisional Autocross Championships will be hosted by the Washington DC region SCCA, event to be held May 28-30, 2010. The only info I've found yet is here: 2010 NEDIV Solo Championship Dates . I will update this thread when I find out when registration starts. The event is Saturday and Sunday, with a practice course and Evo Advantage school on Friday.

Apparently, registration fills up really quickly for big events at FedEx, like within hours. If I can get registered, I will be there for all three days. Hopefully other guys from MT.net will register, and I can have the opportunity to show you how my Time Machine stacks up against your pigs.

Maybe we can work this into a little meet or dinner or something? I will be trailering down, but will still have plates on the Time Machine and street tires available to roll on.

Interested! I haven't done SCCA in 2 years. I used to run STS2. Should be fun.....I will look into renewing my membership.

Keep me posted and feel free to hit me up when you come down.

If you or anyone else want to do this event, you should call the SCCA to re-up your membership now, because it looks like registration will open this week, next week latest. I will update this thread when more info becomes available. But, from past large events that WDC region hosts, like the Pros, they fill almost as soon as they open.

True, however in the past if you email Craig Garfield (WDCR's benevolent dictator), you were put on a wait list. Then, as spots opened up, you had 24 hrs to reply. Whenever I was waitlisted, got in no problemo. I'm not advocating procrastination, but not sure if I'd get my money's worth for SCCA membership this year.

I'm an organizer at another local autox club and usually have a full plate. We run more events than any other local club each year...so SCCA events often conflict w/ my autox schedule or my wife's.

Bumping this. Reg just opened, I am signed up (I think, not on the list, although it's still empty). I am #56 SM2, yes, I know it's SSM, but they listed it as SM2. I'm not doing the Evo, I don't think, because it's just phase 1, and I'll be doing at least phase 1 earlier in the year, if not 1 and 2 on the same weekend in Ayer, Mass.

I'll bump it again when it gets closer, I'd like to get a mini-meet going for this weekend. Hopefully some of you guys can come out and play at the Divs. I'm sure there will some strong cars there.

Go eff yourself for making me sign up and wasting $90.

#7 SM2

BTW, did they move you to SSM? I saw no one else in SM2, but some 1990 Miata in SSM.

Bitch, I hope you're ready to change my tires!

The sign up had SM2, but the entry list changed me (I'm the #56 '90 Miata) and you to SSM, so you're all set. I can't tell you how hopped up I am about the season starting. Nervous, because my car is in 1M pieces, but hopped up.

I probably will be taking off after Sunday, but I say whoever is slow after Saturday's festivities buys the first two rounds or something. I'll probably go to the dinner Saturday, I assume there will be draft there, at least.

I just got my mounted up 275 A6/9" 6UL back today, I'm going to try fitment tonight. I just gotta get some rains, just in case.

Currently I've only got Toyo R1R 225/45/15s. I can't hack up my car (wife). I'm wondering what I COULD stuff under the wheel wells w/o rubbing.

Also, my Konis are ~4 years old and I'm thinking of redoing the shock/coilover setup. Might just buy another set of Konis, revalve the current Sports, then shelve them for a couple of years until I rebuild the new set (possibly Koni Race).

IF you're interested, we could put your tires on my car (if they fit). It's fairly well sorted, but on the heavier side - stock interior, rollbar. I did put down 275whp/244tq at the dyno day. Just a thought. Oh, and I do mean co-drive.

Hey, foo, thanks for the co-drive offer, but I'm hell-bent not only on having it ready by the divs, but having it ready for my region's first tnt the last weekend of April. I have a good network of enthusiasts to rely on if I get really bogged down, but so far it's just the engine build that's bogged down. I plan on having a heart to heart with the engine builder this week so that we can get past making decisions and start moving on, particularly, the top end build.

In the 15, I don't think you can go past what you have, unless you go with some silly spring rates! My 275s are very very close without spacers to the inside rear, and they hit the spring in front at almost full lock. I haven't even moved the suspension up to see the fender clearance, but I have a really aggressive roll and pull, front and rear. Despite this, I expect it to be very close. I'll be running the FCM kit, 550/350 with 1.125 RB front, no rear.

FWIW, you can probably run the 255-13 hoosiers, if they fit over your brakes. Your gearing may be fuxored, but it's an option, and it will probably leave you with good fender clearance without resorting to what I've done.

My car is probably at a similar weight as yours. De-optioned '90, air bags removed, roll bar, full interior. Last time on the scales it was 2240 with a half tank.

Keep in touch, and try to get more of the NoVa dudes out!

IIRC, I was over 2500lbs w/ a full tank of gas and stuff in the trunk. I forget if that was with me in the car or not...but definitely a heavier Miata.

Foo, still going? I'm looking forward to it, but my turbo Miata won't make it, engine out and sick. I'm using the wife's Miata, an under-prepped STS '96. I'll look you up when I'm there.

Anyone else going?

Yes, you bastard!!!!!! You talked me into it. Tell you what...you bring the tires/rims, co-drive with me, and pick up the tranny for Braineack? Eh? Think about it....throwing it out there....

mmmm, so clearance may still be an issue. Dang. I was about to get the alignment tweaked and the car lowered on the Konis/GC.

I kept the rear diff from the 5-speed (4.10) w/ the 6-speed tranny.

Eh? I guess I missed something. Are you going NA?

I think Brainy is showing up Saturday. I probably might offer 1-2 ride-alongs on each day. It's not like I'm fighting for first place. Probably "not last"...which looks like I've got the least experience, not running r-comps....

BTW, does anyone know Ed Lange ? He's driving a Orange Mazdaspeed w/ webby and I. From NNJ, I believe.

Nice edit/add, foo, about finding that orange turbo.

I'd offer a ride-along, pending foo's ok, of course, but everyone should be aware that I have had a tendency to black out while on course and smash into light posts. Just sayin....

^ oh wonderful...

BTW, don't forget to bring your insurance info.

Just in case.

I totally encourage ride-alongs. It's fun to see what a car can do.
