I think Friday is the same night the FM guys will be meeting folks for dinner at Provino's. There is a movie theater across the road from there at the Mall of GA. Regal 18. Could be convenient, though likely to be super packed with the mall crowd.

My recommendation--a bit further from the restaurant but it's on the way back towards Road Atlanta--would be the Great Escapes Hamilton Mill 14. It's a newer theater and *not* near a mall so it tends to be less crowded, and generally has an older audience (20's+ instead of all the kids).

According to the FM dinner thread, the dinner is Saturday night. I am actually a bit torn of whether I want to go to that or if I want to stay at the track and hang out with you guys.

That's too bad.

On Saturday night, I'm likely to stay at the track. The party at the GRM tent is a blast. There's beer (free, though it will run out at some point), music, and fun times. Wes Cobb will be performing--he rocked it last year.

sixshooter 03-28-2011 11:41 AM

I'm heading up for this but need to be in FL till Friday afternoon because of a work-related redfish tournament over at New Smyrna Beach :( .

I'd rather be off on Friday and get up to the track earlier. Debating driving Miata or Tundra. Looking forward to meeting more of you gays and really dig the historic racers, too. Should be fun.

I just need to grow a foot and gain about 150 more pounds :giggle:

redrider706 03-28-2011 12:23 PM

I will be there. It would be great meet people from here.

Truthfully I will probably just stay at the track and party at the GRM tent Saturday night. Saturday nights at the track are almost always a blast.

You do know that this is just a big plan to abduct you and perform science experiments on you specifically. Or really we will just all tell you to run MOAR BOOST.

I need to fix my oil leaks and then turn the boost up.

flier129 04-05-2011 11:27 AM

Yeah.... Im guna hang out at the track Saturday night instead of the FM dinner. I'm hoping the 97 will be running with the ms3x by then :)

Fast 5 on Friday night sounds like a game plan. It'll probly be packed with fun-loving ricers (us) :giggle:

Ben 04-05-2011 12:10 PM

This is the info for the theater I recommend:

Great Escape Hamilton Mill 14
2160 Hamilton Creek Parkway, Dacula, GA 30019

It's fairly new, and pretty close to the track (and not close to a mall). Doesn't look like they're selling tickets yet.

Who gives a fuck? If it's anything like that book, it'll be five hours long and boring as shit.

pusha 04-06-2011 03:39 PM

Better to trailer my caged Miata up there or just bring my C5?

leatherface24 04-06-2011 04:53 PM

C5 but only if you get tires for it other wise its a waste

pusha 04-07-2011 04:06 AM

I'll probably just bring my Miata so everyone can laugh at my setup.*

*I AM WORKING DILIGENTLY TO IMPROVE MY CAR, LEAVE ME ALONE

pusha 04-07-2011 04:06 AM

Jarrod, are you riding with us? So far only Gayron has committed but a few of the goons will probably jump in the truck on the way out of my hood.

flier129 04-10-2011 09:08 PM

Well I'll be getting there with my dad sometime Friday morning/afternoon. Hopefully I'll be driving the black 97. The MS3X is wired and I'm going to dyno tune it this weekend. I'll be extremely happy if it breaks 130rwhp :giggle:

We'll be staying at the best western in DIY's block. So if you guys see my old man, don't give him too much hell, lol.

Looking forward to this lil shin-dig.

ianferrell 04-10-2011 09:37 PM

My brother and I are going to make the trek.. Hopefully taking my car, thats assuming it doesn't blow up next weekend at the autocross. (First time on turbo, and first time with 275 A6s, should be a blast). Really looking forward to it!

pusha 04-17-2011 12:14 PM

Bros,

Will tickets sell out, ya think?

Another member of the peanut gallery has expressed interest. Shit is gonna be nuts.

flier129 04-17-2011 12:48 PM

I doubt it, they've sold tickets at the gate every year I've been.

Ben 04-17-2011 06:03 PM

The VIP tickets usually sell out, but I doubt there will be any problems getting standard tickets at the gate.

tasty danish 04-17-2011 11:51 PM

Ben 04-20-2011 04:54 PM

Hope you guys drop by the DIYAutoTune.com tent. We'll be giving out our ice cold Dyno Springs water to everyone wearing our t-shirts. If you don't have one of our t-shirts, we'll have some for sale on-site for less than you'd spend buying water there. Dyno Springs water is the only water guaranteed to make your car faster. We bottle it straight from the dyno's cooling hose, I mean from our private springs. :giggle:

I want me some Dyno water.

pusha 04-24-2011 11:29 AM

(Posting from my phone because my computer took a shit)

Does our $30 ticket let us camp on the infield?

pusha 04-24-2011 02:28 PM

Nevermindz0r.

tasty danish 04-25-2011 08:52 PM

All my niggs gettin' it in, out there in the streets:

After reading and laughing hysterically at your antics for almost 2 years, me and the wife are coming to the meet (as mentioned). We would really like to meet up with ya'll and roll with the MT.net posse, but I don't know any of you beyond your e-thuggery.

We will be showing up friday night and think the F&F movie idea would be hilarious, but if anyone could volunteer some contact info, that'd be great. I tried PM-ing Pusha but I think he's still angry about that little episode between me, my girl, and his girl...

sixshooter 04-26-2011 08:55 AM

I'm getting to the lakehouse late Friday evening and I'll be at the event all day Saturday. I'm probably going to bring a truckload of Miata and turbo parts I need to get rid of. I might camp overnight on Saturday.

Is it worth bringing Miata parts or are most people not going to be shopping for deals?

ianferrell 04-26-2011 11:36 AM

We need to assemble some brain power at the DIY tent and figure out what settings (and which tooth to remove, for faster sync) from the trackspeed 12t crank wheel to get it running on ms2 and ms3... I've got all the hardware installed on my car... Just have to run a little bit of wire, mod the cas and change the settings in tuner studio so that we can finally have correct settings to post in that damn thread, lol :)

shuiend 04-26-2011 02:29 PM

I plan on showing up around noon on Friday. Then will park my car next to the DIY tent and pop the hood. Then getting mad bitches will commence once they see my amazing Absurdflow setup. You guys are welcome to join in and help me Eiffel Tower the Bitches.

soloracer 04-26-2011 03:56 PM

I'll be there all 3 days. Ye shall know me by my fatness, baldness, too-cute-for-me fiancee, black Mazdaspeed 3, and green MT.net turbo-kitty shirt - though I only plan to wear that on one day.....

flier129 04-26-2011 06:48 PM

I think there needs to be a demo done by Ben(DIY) on how to utilize sequential fuel and ignition on the ms3x in a miata. I know just the car too! :giggle:

Hope to have the 97 ready, I'll be base tuning it Thursday night and Friday morning on the way there, lol.

Speaking of parking, is there any special parking for Miatas in general or maybe even for DIYAutotune customers?

Yes, don't pay for parking lol

sixshooter 04-27-2011 08:01 AM

So that's a "no" on the interest in Miata and turbo parts then? Maybe I should leave the parts at the house and not be bothered with babysitting it up there.

I honestly do not know what parking will be like. I am just kind of winging it once I get there.

You coming down to the event?

chriscar 04-27-2011 09:08 AM

Yeah, I'll be there!

Matt Cramer posted on m.net that there's a DIYAutotune car corral for MS'd cars. I just bumped the thread asking for confirmation.

I will shoot them an email and ask. Then I will post up what they say.

How many people are serious about seeing Fast Five on Friday night? I would like to get a rough headcount so that we can pick a time and whatnot.

soloracer 04-27-2011 09:21 AM

There will be special parking for all Mazdas as they are the featured marque. I also understand that there will be a specific Miata area as well.

shuiend 04-27-2011 10:07 AM

Ben just got back to me and said that they will have some sort of corral in the Infield. They don't know where yet as they do not get to set up until tomorrow. So I guess just look for the DIY tent in the infield when you get in.

chriscar 04-27-2011 10:15 AM

Well between the Mazda parking, Miata parking, and DIY corral, it shouldn't be an issue. I'm so stoked about this!

C

FoundSoul 04-27-2011 10:22 AM

Yep we'll have a car corral -- come on out and join us there. We'll have a large rolling billboard (aka trailer) there, with a tent, and a handful of chairs. I'll be the guy with the stinky (in a good way) cigar.

Oh yeah-- remember to wear your DIYAutoTune T-shirts! We'll be giving away free water to anyone wearing one of our shirts. And we'll have shirts there cheap too.

FoundSoul 04-27-2011 10:25 AM

Trailer should look something like this... it's getting wrapped as I type this.
