How many of you dickbags are in this "nut gallery"? I seriously need to know because there are about 25-30 peopel coming and 3-4 people make a difference at that point when making reservations.

We have between 30 and 37 people who have said they want to go or are pending pending (between the 3 forums this meet is posted on)....given most events and how people "forget" or not show up or change plans, I'd say the realistic numbers will be 24-29 people. I'm going to make a reservation for 30 chairs. If a large number of those stay open after we sit down, I'll give them the green light to use the extra seats for regular customers.

pusha 04-24-2011 11:25 AM

Doppel, I won't know how many people are actually riding up with me until the rims start spinnin' and the beats are bumpin', #8 on NWA, straight outta compton.

Count me and my crew out. I don't feel like shelling out $600 for diesel.

Too bad you can't get those bums you run with to shell out a Ben Franklin apiece for fuel.

What are the chances on all you liberal northerners hooking up with the FM guys after the date?

I guess it depends on how liberal the FM guys are.

I am out for dinner. I will just be staying at the track drinking free beer.

chriscar 04-26-2011 08:53 PM

Got space for 2 more? I just finalized my plans and we'll be there Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.

C

Doppelgänger 04-26-2011 11:08 PM

Yeah, there should be plenty of room. We plan on going back up to Road Atlanta after dinner for more drinking any partying. We only plan on the Taco Mac dinner being about 1-1.5hrs to leave plenty of time to hangout at the GRM party.

It's tax season.

assuming we pay taxes, I guess. lolZZZZZ

Rent a fucking car that gets good MPGs and drive up here....it'll be cheaper than driving some POS diesel truck.

My truck isn't a piece of shit. Fuck you, bitch, some say that to my face and not online and see what happens.

Will be there +2.

Saw you pull in today by the FM tent. Car looks great. So clean...unlike ours... ;-p

ianferrell 04-29-2011 11:07 PM

Me and my brother will be there. Our motel room is in Buford. Also, if anyone sees us out there tomorrow, say hi... We don't know anyone 'IRL', in my (shitty stock paint) red 94 with stock wheels and shitty all seasons, black finish panel. AR tags, natch.

JennB 04-30-2011 10:35 AM

Mike is on his way up to the track now and will be in the FM tent so stop by and say hi.

I'm heading up in a few. My car is very, very black and sounds like a Subaru, not hard to find at all. I'll be around the track taking photos.

Doppelgänger 05-01-2011 11:14 PM

Glad to meet you guys! Organizing the meet was a bit of fun but ended up working out well for everyone who made it. Jenn got up to Taco Mac around 6:30 to secure the table for about 30 people.....boy did we end up needing more as it was closer to 50 as there was some word-of-mouth attendees and some who saw the event posted but didn't say anything! Our waitress did a great job attending to everyone.

People I remeber meeting/seeing again-
Steve
Chris
Paul
Tasty Breakfast Treat
ianferrell (hope your ride back wasn't as bad as it sounded like it was going to be ...no pun intended)
shuiend (sp?) (will have to hit you up next time I'm in Charleston)

I know there were more of you there....

flier129 05-02-2011 09:14 AM

Well I got wrapped up in lots of beer down in the pits Saturday night, then continued at the dinner in the pavilion, then back to the the GRM tent. So I got side-tracked and couldn't make it.

I did get a chance to talk to Keith from FM and Steve from v8roadsters. I forget Steve and v8roadsters are really close to where I live, he didn't have to convince me I wanted to do an LSx swap :giggle:

I saw chriscar, finally met Ben, and of course saw Mike(doppel) running around. Never got a chance to talk to anyone :( I always have the problem of trying to do everything on a weekend like the mitty, your always going to miss something, lol.

JennB 05-02-2011 10:40 AM

Glad you guys could all come out, though I don't think I actually met any of you, lol.

Mike was still up at Road A, waiting to lead the FM guys down to the restaurant and I'm texting him saying "um, how many people do you have with you because there are a LOT of people here". Glad they were so accommodating. It was funny sitting there waiting for our table to get put together and other people are walking up asking what the wait time was. The host was like "well, we have a party of 30 we're seating now so it may be a minute". I'm thinking that they are totally hating us.

It was fun though. Nice to see so many people get together for a great weekend of racing.

Amazingly, no real problems. 600 miles with only half a downpipe, and we got 34.4mpg, lol... The less gas you gave it the quieter it was so we were hypermiling it for sure. We just stuck to interstate as much as possible, drafted periodically and kept it between 65 and 72 most of the way...
still more quiet than every v twin motorcycle that passed us, but we knew we'd get a ticket if we gave any cops the chance.

pusha 05-02-2011 03:54 PM

yo, anyone want to come down to Miami and hang out with me? we can go to the McDonald's at the corner, they still have the 20 pc. chicken nuggets and a Play Place.

Nice to meet you, man. I think you're the only person besides Steve that I talked to from mt.net.

chriscar 05-02-2011 06:31 PM

Dinner was great - I arrived with Ben and my buddy Steve a little after 7:30 and was seated at the 'FM table' right next to Bill Cardell, which was really cool, but damn... in a place with a beer menu that could choke a horse, why was I the only one drinking?!?!?!

Had a great time. It was nice to meet a few of you, though I wish we could have met more. Thanks to RotorNut for bringing me a crucial car part! It was cool to get to chat with you and your girl. Glad to have a chance to chat with and a face to attach to RotorNut, Doppelganger, and SixShooter. Thanks to everyone that made it happen.

The FM gang sure is a nice bunch. Got to talk to Bill for quite a while in the parking lot at Taco Mac. Good times...

Had a great time at the Mitty too. Chris and Mike, thanks for the hospitality fellas. We need to do it again, and soon!

Let me know if you are interested :)

sixshooter 05-04-2011 01:53 PM

It was good to meet some more guys from the forum. And it was good to visit with a few of the familiar folks as well. LB, I hope your boyfriend didn't think I was hogging your conversation time much. "The pastry" on the other side of me was staying at my place and had ridden with me to TacoMac, so we had already talked a bunch. I didn't think anything about it, but Tasty said I was hogging one of the only females conversationally, lol.

After slamming a water because I was dehydrated, I had one of their frozen margaritas, which was really light on the sauce. They didn't have my first choice for liquor so I had to follow it with a Jack on the rocks just to catch up. I'm not into the beer as much when the weather starts heating up.

Was anyone that made it back to the track afterward impressed by the entertainment in the Hella "After Dark" tent? There wasn't enough free beer in the tent to overcome the vocals emanating from the pig farmer with the guitar. For those that might not have been graced with the opportunity to witness the spectacle, the entertainer was a very large older fellow, roughly 6'3" 300lbs, with overalls, a beard, and a smallish looking guitar (or maybe it looked small in front of him). He had a voice like a smooth gravel road due to years of chain smoking and hard liquor and when he hit the high notes, look out, a falsetto like a partially clogged Hoover at full suck. Molly Hatchet be damned, he was bound and determined to force cover songs well out of his limited vocal range. "Dave Matthews? Yeah, I can play it." ...Oh, really?

I decided to collect my free beer and stand wayyyy over near the port-a-potties where a couple of the DIY Autotune fellas were inconspicuously trying to earn a few bucks for gas money and Lars was trying to talk them down. Don't judge me, Tasty Danish had spent so much time talking about flying seamen (I'm sorry, naval aviators), the price was right and it took my mind off of the music. Don't let the DIY guys tell you that they are only programmers. Those boys are amazing tuners. If your flute ever gets a little flat, get it tuned up by one of those fellers. I was thinking at the time it would have been appropriate if the pig farmer broke into some Cheap Trick. Anyhoo, good times.

Sawyer 05-04-2011 02:17 PM

Nah, you were fine Steve. I have to put up with Steve's ass all day long and he was all wrapped up in Dave's (OldGrayFrog) SEAL stories anyways!

sixshooter 05-04-2011 02:52 PM

Hahaha! I'll have to call you two the next time my wife and I are headed up to the lake.

Though we missed being serenaded on Sat. night by the rather large fellow with the voice of one-thousand screaming roosters stuffed in a pillowcase, we did get our fill on Friday night for the Mazda party. Steve, good to see ya again, too bad I was sitting just far enough away that holding a conversation would have meant yelling across a few other people. Kinda wish we had all left the tables a bit sooner to engage in conversation outside where it was easier to maneuver from one peron to another.

Also Steve, if you guys (including other MT'ers) ever want to come up for a mtn. run or day near the city, let me know and I'll rally a few people up for a BBQ at the house.

I was having trouble speaking up anyway because my throat was bothering me. I appreciate the hospitality and the invite. I'll let you know the next time I drag some reprobates up that way and we'll see what sort of trouble finds us.

And sorry about crashing the FM TacoMac event. I wasn't planning on going but was convinced by a well-meaning someone I should and that you likely had some no-shows so space wouldn't be an issue. But space was an issue. I'm glad it worked out. Tasty and I were starting to move to the table behind us when that other group came in, but those guys started for it as we were getting up so we stayed put. I'm really glad I went.

Doppelgänger 05-04-2011 10:24 PM

Aye Sir, you're always welcome and weren't a problem by any means. I think it's funny how FM was inviting people at the track lol Not that it's a bother, we did get everyone seated. We really didn't take into consideration the V8R guys nor the people who caught wind of the dinner around the FM tent. 'Twas a great weekend.

Oh and Satisfying Early Day Sugary Pastry didn't RSVP in this thread either :D

I know and I felt terrible, but Steve threatened to play "just the tip" again if I didn't go, and we all know, it's NEVER just the tip with him. I never knew there was so much meaning behind his screen-name.

It was nice eating and making merry with ya'll, even if you didn't buy into my "mall hoez" idea. :friday:
(that hella party would have been great with a group of 10-15 of us, at a table, drunk, heckling the guy, otherwise, no dice).

Don't play coy in front of the forum members. I merely hinted at going down to the basement of the lakehouse to play "Lambs" and ten minutes later he was dancing around in nothing but a black feather boa with his manhood tucked and eyeshadow on doing his best "Buffalo Bill" impression. I still can't get over the way he says "prrreshhhuss" with his lips pursed and pouty like that. "It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again."

Don't play coy or I'll call you out. You know your danish ain't the only thing that's tasty.

tasty danish 05-05-2011 08:02 PM

I think we both know that me liking to play lambs, and you having no restraint are 2 separate issues, and I would appreciate if you didn't confuse them, especially in public!!!!1111!
