Default MD/VA/PA/WVA "FaelFest" Spring Dyno Day 2012

My oil drain is falling off. That means...

TIME FOR ANOTHER DYNO DAY

Due to lack of attendance for our previous day, we are not allowed back at York Automotive unless we rent out the dyno for a whole day. The price for that is cheap but it has to be paid in advance. I don't want to handle that. In short, something like six people could have an hour on the dyno apiece for the cost of a few pulls at other places. Up to you guys.

So

If we go somewhere else, where should we go?

Tenative date:

April 36th

I cannot do the last weekend in April or the first weekend in May. Other then that I am reasonably free. I want to hit up a dynojet though.

Due to lack of attendance for our previous day

So you want to schedule yet another dyno day you won't be making?

I like certainty and

I think I have proven that scheduling a dyno day is a sure fire way to know my car will not be working on XX/XX/XXXX date.

I'm in, obviously. My car will make MAD POWERRR. I think I'll beat my previous dyno of 102whp

these guys have a dyno and it's like 10 minutes from my home.

I've been to Mach 5 before. first dyno I've ever plotted on. They used to be cheap, I was able to do an hour for $100, a year later I called and they wanted something like $225.

So I went across the street to Ferrari's Custom Car and Truck and paid $80 for an hour.

I would rather strap to a dynojet.

I would love to see how much power you would lose on a stock car going from

38* @ 100kpa @7000RPM

to

16* @100kpa@7000RPM

I am friends with these guys and I would be willing to pull some strings to get a dyno day if people commit to come.

I think they do some sort of dyno day in the spring to start off the season, we could probably hop on that.

Would anyone come up to Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh? How do you live in Media and want to drive to Pittsburgh? New York City is closer! I can name 2 Dyno's right this second that are wayyy closer than Pittsburgh. Speed 1 in Lenhartsville, PA and RT tuning in Lansdale.

I'll go. I want to get mine junk on a dyno. Apparently some shop (Innovate Motor Works in Carlisle PA) is doing one soon. But it'll probably be a bunch of ricers, also apparently they missed the memo because they're still charging $75 for 3 pulls. I thought the point of a dyno day was to be cheap?

We realistically want a location within 2.5 hours of DC.

http://www.speed1allentown.com/Home.aspx
Speed 1's website.
The owner use to be a master technician for Mazda. Its a legit shop, not like these other import tuner shops.

Lol! You can see my house on that aerial photo! Speed 1 used to be KD Rotary, and they were in Lynnville. Lynnville is a small town of like 8 houses in the middle of nowhere. KD Rotary (KDR) moved to Lenhartsville, and is right off of I-78. Very easy to find. The area is beautiful (which is why I live in it) and Dave (owner of Speed 1) is really cool to deal with.
Aside from that, I get a boner everytime I go there as there is usually 20+ 3rd gen RX-7's there, some with LS swaps. They tune everything. My friend has a 98 C5 vette, and he dropped it off to get long tune headers a catless x pipe, and a dyno tune. They called him back 2 days later and said, "pick you car up cause it's done." I can't remember what they charged, but it was PENNIES.
It's pretty central located.
Philly guys would take 476 to northeast extension towards allentown, then I-78 is like 15 minutes to Speed 1.
MD guys could take I-83 to Harrisburg, then I-81 to I-78, then it's like 45 minutes to Speed 1.
