I'll be there for two cam adjustments since my AFR is checks out ok per a boost run yesterday. Just need to get the EBC tuned, but I've got the mbc waiting as a backup. It'll serve my purpose for baseline vs. cam timing.
Just read this from lethal injection: We have a Dual Eddy Steady State Mustang 1750 2wd Dyno. |
I'd love to run, but I'd more love to get my new rad and IC setup going. So, I'll probably be home in my garage.

Screw that, it's going to be 70+ and sunny. Go for a ride. Work on the car when the next cold snap comes.

well not much response here, but there will be around a half dozen FI Miatae in attendance. not sure why everyone is so secretive. ;)
|
You pulled out a nice run today mate!
|
post up the dyno numbers?
|
yeah we're getting files emailed beginning of the week.
my car made the best power of the day as far as miata-engined miatas go. 193whp/189wtq uncorrected on a mustang. completely untuned and untouched car, 10:1 a/f. I was pretty happy, boost holds nice and steady. the shop guys said their mustang reads low, even for a mustang. for perspective, jdmaddox's fairly stock 96 pulled 80whp. m2cup's 2.0 FE got about 250whp, compared to the 300whp he nailed on the dynojet on our last dyno day extravaganza. there was also a really pimp old body style protege with a forged bottom and an fm massaged 99 cyl head that pulled 22% less today than he did on a dynojet previously. overall, a fun day... until on the drive home when wildfire's oil pressure sender fitting BROKE out of his block, instantly dropping all of his oil into the street. i just got in after we discovered the issue, realized it was not road-side repairable, and waited for a tow truck. :( |
ouch, did he shut it off right away or will he have an expensive project coming up?

he shut it down immediately. it's probably fine, but will be a somewhat serious project to make the car operational again.

It was actually ~18% less whp (343 vs. 282) and ~20% less wtq (318 vs. 255) compared to a Dynojet. Things that changed were that I replaced a high-flow cat with a resonator, changed my final drive from 4.105 to 3.85, and changed the 4th gear ratio from 1.03 to 0.96. How much these 'mods' actually affected the readings, who knows (unless I go back on a Dynojet).

I ran into some problems with my IC and rad project I started Friday night. Hope to have it back together by the end of the day today.
