FL - Tampa vs. Orlando Meetup in Lakeland
 

Just dropping a copy of this here in case anyone from MT.net might be interested in joining in. As posted on local forums and CR.net:


Tampa vs. Orlando meet will be on Sept. 26th, 2009 @ Lakeland Hooters. Start time will be around 11am - until whenever, you choose how long you'd like to stay. I ask of those that are attending to please buy some food or drinks from them since they're letting us use their parking lot to have our meet. Calls have been made for roughly 30 people/cars, I figured I might start mid-range and go from there depending on how many people are willing to make the drive out.

This is not a formally planned event, but more of a big meet. Please don't expect prizes or a raffle from me I'm not much of the event coordinator, but a swap meet might not be a bad idea for those looking to sell/buy extra parts, for Miata's only though guys, no vcr's or PS2's

An ALL FL meet will be happening in the beginning of next year, so I'm not expecting those from down South to drive 4+ hours unless they really want to

So please post up your name(s), and car so I can let them know ahead of time if we need more space!!

You should come. It is six hours from you. You could use it as an excuse to go to the beach, too.

They aren't going to bother to have a cruise with it because the roads are all straight and flat around here. Northeast of Macon where you are is one of the better roads for fast hilly curves I've been on. I'll try to look it up later...idk its name.

how did this go anyways?

I was sitting in my office that Saturday, and a parade of boosted miatas went by. Ironicly, I was logged in to Miata Turbo! For a minute I thought you guys sent out a band of thugs to intimidate me for being a newb and talking shit!

There was a good turnout, but it was hot and people only stayed a couple of hours, which was a let-down. I didn't get a chance to look at several of the cars I wanted to see because they left early. 52 people signed up and got name tags the last time I saw the sheet. Some of them came together in one car so there weren't 52 cars.

The pussies didn't do the cruise through the winding back roads because it was "too hot." But, what do you expect from a bunch of Miata fags?

I did meet Dan from Danscreations. He's a really nice guy. He raffled off some really expensive looking top-hats just so the waitress would get good tip money. I didn't win them...:cry:
