Signed up for the following events:

4/14 - Sebring with the Chin group
4/19 & 4/20 - Sebring with NASA

currently going through the car making sure it’s ready for 3 track days in 2 weekends. I’m ordering a backup set of pads, all fluids are fresh, and I have a bunch of spare parts

AA-Ron 03-18-2019 08:47 PM

If anyone in Orlando is looking for 10mm Alumalite, N.Glantz & Son Sign and Graphics has 4x8 sheets of white in stock. I bought another sheet today for my ST5 splitter.

Any other color is special order and must have a 10 sheet minimum order. So if a bunch of us want Alumalite we can put an order together to purchase black.

sixshooter 03-19-2019 01:23 AM

How much is a sheet of what they stock?

Alejo_NIN 03-19-2019 11:47 AM

i need to track my miata! tired of auto-x already.,

Supe 03-19-2019 12:20 PM

do you know how many events they plan to do this year at PBIR?

AA-Ron 03-19-2019 04:09 PM

I paid $142 per sheet pre-tax (I have a tax ID).

I compared it to a 1/2 sanded birch piece I have and it's considerably lighter.

At least three is my understanding, but I don't know the other two proposed dates.

vtbandit 04-04-2019 11:08 AM

Just a few updates:
TNiA has added some Florida events (Daytona & FIRM). Nice options for different tracks if weekends are hard to come by.

TNiA at Daytona:
I want to drive at Daytona
TNia at The Firm:
or I'd like to drive at The FIRM

NASA now has HPDE contingency with Hawk when you move up HPDE groups. Hawk didn't have to do this so it is appreciated. An example is 30% brakes when you move from HPDE 2 (novice) to HPDE 3 (intermediate).
Is this an HPDE trophy?

sixshooter 04-04-2019 05:04 PM

Hmmm.

Don't care about the firm much but maybe can talk a customer into Daytona.

Schroedinger 04-08-2019 05:51 PM

Anyone going to Barber this weekend with Chin? I'll be there Sunday.

AA-Ron 04-08-2019 08:56 PM

Hard no from me. I'm waiting for NASA mid south to head back after the repave

Schroedinger 04-08-2019 11:01 PM

Probably a good call, I didn’t plan this one well. Re-pave + rain = potential shit show.

@sixshooter let me know if you go. I keep getting the email about the event and trying to decide what to do.

Blkbrd69 04-09-2019 04:38 PM

Does anyone know it the Track Night event runs the full 24 hour course using NASCAR 1-2 bus stop then 3-4?

Seem to remember they don't on the DE event?

Skipped NASA SE and PDG Daytona last year due to NA slow and scary slow top end. Planning on it this year.

@Blkbrd69 based on this link it is the full 24 hour course.

Roll call: Who will be running with NASA Florida this weekend at Sebring, and if so what group?

Too hot for me right now. And the car is apart.

I'll be there... working grid.

I'll be running just ST5.

Looking at the entries as of late, we are seriously thinking of making the switch to ST4 sooner then later.

800rs 07-11-2019 11:05 PM

So.. anyone going to the Daytona TNIA?

vtbandit 07-12-2019 06:44 AM

I’m on the fence between the TNIA event or the SCCA event there the next day. The SCCA event on Friday is more expensive but you get 4 vs 3 sessions.

vtbandit 07-17-2019 02:56 PM

Registered for the TNIA event. Anyone else going?

sixshooter 07-18-2019 05:43 AM

Still working out my cooling fan issue. And then I need an alignment. Have fun and take videos.

vtbandit 08-06-2019 04:53 PM

SCCA just announced a TNIA event at Sebring on 9/12. 12-hour course. I'm signed up in intermediate. Anyone interested in going?

sixshooter 08-06-2019 05:21 PM

Edit: 3:20pm until 7p? Eff that. It's the hottest time of of the day. I would do it if it was actually at night. Then again it is 2 hours each way plus loading and unloading which is a little tough to justify for three sessions. If it started at 5 p.m. and they had four sessions I would be all over it. I might even do it if it started at 6 and had three sessions.

vtbandit 08-06-2019 05:45 PM

@sixshooter , I’ll take that as a no then. Lol. Anyone else?

sixshooter 08-06-2019 09:31 PM

Sorry for being such a Nancy about it.

vtbandit 08-16-2019 12:58 PM

NASA SE is doing a track weekend at Roebling Road. ~$300 for a 2-day event. I love this track as you spend a ton of time at the limit and some of the turns require large attachments. Anyone else going?

Roebling Road w/ NASA SE

sixshooter 08-16-2019 01:02 PM

I love Roebling. Maybe I'll go.

DNMakinson 08-16-2019 07:39 PM

JZilla at AMP on October 20. Will try out my larger Front Sway.

sixshooter 08-16-2019 09:07 PM

Ooh, that sounds good too.

vtbandit 09-17-2019 07:03 PM

Less than two weeks for Roebling. I’m registered in HPDE 2

Still moving, so car is still sitting. Say Hi as you drive by.

I'll probably ask for an evaluation for 3 on Sunday.

I bet your car is going through withdraw. I can stop by and swap cars for the weekend. :)

My car wants to go to the track, its jealous.
Brakes are still sitting in boxes packed under other boxes, splitter just delaminated to tick me off.
Garage is going to look awesome just taking way to long.

Supe 09-19-2019 07:15 AM

SCCA SEDIV is having a TT at TGPR October 5-6. They are finishing the year at Roebling November 16th and 17th. They are honoring the new TT classing scheme at both tracks (TTN rules), so roll bars/cages are not mandatory this year if you're on a 200TW tire. Roebling always offers great bang for the buck with ample track time and minimal lap traffic.

vtbandit 10-30-2019 11:03 AM

The Track Night in America group is running a Sebring event sponsored by Hagerty. Looks like inexpensive track time and cool weather. Good time for quick laps.

Details:
- November 17th (Sunday)
- $75 for 3x20 minute sessions in the morning.
- $75 for 3x20 minute sessions in the afternoon.
- you have to be a Hagerty member ($45 annual membership) to register.
- All in, you can get 6x20 minute sessions for under $200.

Event link

sixshooter 10-30-2019 11:39 AM

They must be planning on having a lot of cars on the track at once to offer it that inexpensively. Unless Haggerty has just got it figured into its advertising budget and expect to keep the customers as clients afterwards.

I'm already planning on doing Saturday the 16th with Performance Driving Group there at Sebring.

I expect it is subsidized by Hagerty. Hagerty purchased Motorsportsreg which is the website you use to register for the event. Grow Hagerty membership, grow motorsportreg members, win?

Also, since this is managed by the TNIA group, there are caps on number of cars on course. In my experience in the past it was ~35 cars which is a car every 550 feet.

sixshooter 10-30-2019 01:17 PM

Are they doing the full course or just the short course? Scca often does just the short course.

vtbandit 10-30-2019 02:31 PM

Everything thing I've seen so far has been full course. The last TNIA event there was the full course too. With that said, I sent an email the the event director asking to confirm it is the full course.

Perfect, no. In all honesty, I feel pretty good with 17. I've give myself a B with some adjustments to be had with line, v_min, and trail braking into the turn. This is based on comparing video and data with pretty good baseline (TT4 and TTE track records.

I brake, turn, straighten, brake, turn again. But I'm probably not doing it like you are.

sixshooter 04-29-2020 10:07 AM

This is too soon for me but I thought I would post it for the rest of you.

Performance Driving Group

Our first event scheduled for Saturday May 9th at Homestead Speedway has been approved and confirmed by the Speedway. Although there are some safety restrictions in place, they will not affect your track time at all.

We will start out with the following safety measures until the Speedway changes the current requirements:

NO GATHERINGS
  • there will be no drivers meeting. The drivers meeting will be printed and handed to every driver to read and follow our rules.
  • Lunch will not be permitted, so make arrangements to either bring your own lunch or go outside of the Speedway to purchase one.
  • Classroom for Beginner's under 10 total people will be held outside by the patio.
  • No helmet rentals
  • No water so please make sure to bring some.
  • Everyone will be required to wear a mask when outside of their vehicle but not inside while you are driving or stopped. Gloves are optional.
  • If you are an instructor or a student, you should wear a mask while driving together. Not a requirement but a suggestion.
GARAGES:
  • Only 2 vehicles per garage
  • Stay 6' away from your neighbor
Our second event scheduled for May 15th at Sebring has also been confirmed and same restrictions will apply.

Registration for both events are now open.
We will keep you informed as we receive new information from the tracks

I need to finish off my 225s before I upgrade.. anyone have plans for Sebring in the coming QTR?

sixshooter 04-29-2020 12:33 PM

It's hot an I'm a wimp. I need to swap BMW transmissions out before my next track day. The one I installed originally sounds like it has rough bearings and is making metal. It may have been sitting in a field for years...

I could go at some point. I'm just not looking forward to the heat.

vtbandit 04-29-2020 12:53 PM

The next yet-to-be-cancelled event for me is Road Atlanta in June with NASA SE.

Chin has Sebring scheduled for 5/30, 6/13 (conflicts with RA), 7/11, and 8/8). Depending on how things start to open back up, I may pick one of those days and go to Sebring. The pit stalls are first come first serve and the hospitality areas are a/c. If the car can tolerate the heat, I think I'll survive.

Joker 04-29-2020 03:59 PM

You guys are braver than I. I'm not afraid of heat..but I wont stray to far without a tow rig.

sixshooter 04-30-2020 07:38 AM

Acquire tow rig

Thought I would share this Red Flag gem from my last track day. BMW was acting funky all day.. which is why I was hesitant to pass the slow traffic in the first place.

Blkbrd69 05-01-2020 05:15 PM

PDG just notified by Sebring May events canceled till "at least" the 18th.

sixshooter 05-02-2020 09:33 AM

I saw that.

vtbandit 05-20-2020 08:09 AM

The NASA Southeast event at Road Atlanta is just over 3 weeks out. I'll be there in HPDE. Anyone else going?

Blkbrd69 05-29-2020 05:50 PM

Looks like NASA Sebring June 20-21 is a go.

Blkbrd69 06-26-2020 04:12 PM

Thought I would chime in since its been a while.
June NASA Sebring was a blast. Also a blast furnace, good god it was hot.
Maxxis VR-1 were getting very slick after 3 laps, this is what happened at lap 6 :party:Time for 245 Hoosiers :bigtu:
