It's official - 2010 East Coast Miata Challenge
The 2010 East Coast Miata Challenge brought to you by Phil's Tire Service and 949 Racing is official. The 2010 season will be run in conjunction with EMRA (Eastern Motor Racing Association) events through out the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. Tracks such as New Jersey Motorsports Park, Limerock, Pocono, Monticello Motor Club and Summit Point Raceway will be on the calendar for this season. More info to follow.....

I just wanted to inform you that this year we have secured Maple Grove Raceway for April 24 and 25 2010 for the Greater Reading Auto Expo. This is will be a similar event as last years event at the expo center. We will have Drifting, AutoX, an Import Car Show, a Domestic Car Show, an import swap meet, mobile dyno, audio competition, and more. We will be givingaway 1 gated and watercooled GT35 Turbo each day as a raffle prize. We are looking for event sponsors, vendors, and participants. Registration for this event will start at the end of Januaray.

From poking around their website it sounds like on a given weekend they run wheel-to-wheel on one day and HPDE/TT on the second day. (?)
"EMRA's day of Time Trialing provides several lengthy sessions of track practice. Late in the afternoon, timed runs (or competitive laps) are taken."
That sounds to me like you don't have to be a licensed racer or have run umpteen prior events with them in order to be allowed on track with a transponder, which is nice. Sounds to me like those in HPDE (with an instructor) can get signed off and do some TT later in the day. They also mention a TT license. Is anybody familiar with their procedures? Mr. roadhugger?

The time trial procedure has been changed and it will be more like NASA now. You are separated into run groups according to speed and driver ability. You do need to be signed off to advance to the next group, or have a session "observed" if you already have a license from another club.
