Does it unscrew? If it does, unscrew it, clean it with contact cleaner, put jb weld on the threads, and screw it in.
I'll come down there tomorrow and fix it for you if you buy me a case of southern tier creme brûlée. |
On second thought, you live in MD...make that a case of Russian River Pliny the Elder.
|
Already tried that. no worky :(
|
What if you drive it up here and it's an aluminum fitting...and the oil pan is aluminum, right? It could be tig welded to no leakage...

Seriously. If you remove your pan and ship it to me, I will weld a bung on there for free.
|
Hey so who thinks I can get my oil fitting tack welded onto the pan, without exploding the pan??
Tack weld would keep the bung on the pan, and I can just seal it with jb. And not have to pull the motor. |
Min...why would oil fumes explode? It ain't like you're welding the gastank! Weld that shiz up and get this over with!

Moore's has a decent setup. AWD load bearing dynojet. I have dynoed on it previously at a dyno day back in 09. I know they do semi regular dyno days. I will talk to one of my friends who is close with them about what it takes to setup a day.

min do it right. pull the engine, take the trans/clutch/flywheel off, put engine on a stand, clean all mating surfaces etc etc etc. |
How big is the hole? I once saw on some Speed TV show a guy doing some road rally get a small hole in his gas tank I think, he drilled a hole on the tank and put in a screw in that hole to hold gas. IDK if that would work for you, but there yeah go.

this is a good idea though. Except the hole is too big to screw. That's what she said? |
I'm not going to say this again...tig weld the fitting on while engine is in the car...nothing will happen, all will be well.
No more leaks/ 700whp/ game over. |
Why not drain the oil and then tig weld it?

i dont understand.
I have a drilled and tapped bung that is 1/2" pipe to -10 AN and it's slathered in JB weld and screwed into a 1/2" pipe hole in the oil pan. It's been there for a billion years and never leaked. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1332680022 look how juicy it looks! https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1332680022 |
When is this dyno and where?
In for Black '99 dyno...105whp. |
