Miata Reunion 2020 - Road Atlanta

Just announced today: Road Atlanta, Oct 31-Nov 1, 2020. Miata Reunion 2020

We're looking pretty seriously at making the trip... 1850 miles, one-way! For us, it will all depend on getting track time. Unfortunately, registration won't be up until late June, and will probably sell out even faster than Laguna...

So who's thinking about going?

emilio700 01-03-2020 11:57 PM

My guess is someone will arrange a transporter from SoCal. If that happens we will buy a spot on it and send a street-legal track car out. Me, Sonny and probably Ed would just fly out. No booth, just hanging out with some friends we have in 'lanta

^ I likes this plan.

I will be out. Most likely as a vendor.

Ah finally a date, cool.

Should be a great event! There's a possibility of Jzilla helping with the event as they've ran Road Atlanta events like this for a couple of years. They're also the host of Miatas Before the Gap track event that I've helped with.

9LR will be there for sure, since it's in the backyard.... almost literally.

Edit: For the west coast guys, if you can make the time..... make the trip up to Deal's Gap during the week. The road itself is fun, but the drive from Road Altanta to it actually pretty damn cool. Typical fun route to take: https://goo.gl/maps/ZemB5KyM28pHsYAP8

I’ll be there. I have a buddy flying out from Seattle that week. Hopefully we will have both the LFX and the K cars there!

portabull 01-04-2020 12:54 PM

as the taco bell chihuahua used to say, "i am there"!

Oh4One4 01-04-2020 08:11 PM

WOO! An hour from my house! just need to get it off the jackstands!

rwyatt365 01-04-2020 09:15 PM

As long I don't break (or burn) anything, I'll be there with FrankenMiata!

paNX2K&SE-R 01-04-2020 09:18 PM

Wow now I have even more motivation for me to finally get my LFX on the road this year!

Portabull: I received my gauge cluster adapter in the mail last week, thanks man.

Sounds like something worth planning for.

Great news! Jzilla Track Days is a sponsor and managing contributor for this event.

Potentially proposed activities (some of these are new and never offered at LSR)

Car show & BBQ at host hotel

Hotlapping (in the Gentleman's sense) of Road Atlanta - staged by Jzilla Track Days
(Instructors available for novices)
Autocross at the skidpad, located on the Road Atlanta infield
Vendor Village (infield)
Club corrals (Halloween themed? - infield)
Parade Laps
Group Photo/Drone video
Band/music
Banquet/party

Tentative. Equally likely to just show up to hang out as i am to get on track depending on how the rest of the season goes.

I would really like to make this event. Only question will be if I will be home to do so. Probably have to chose between MATG and this one.

Hoping that the track car runs, and that Gesso can make it out to tick a bucket list track.

"LSR" ???

NVM... Laguna Seca Raceway. .. but at RA.

Yeah - I'll be there. It's only about an hour from my house.

Hopefully I'll have a lift in my shop by then. (for any last minute adjustments or repairs)

Anyone coming into town a couple days early or staying late to visit Deals Gap or the surrounding? Lots and LOTS of good mountain roads nearby.

@Chiburbian , do you have the Dyno in Ga? Or did it stay in Il?

Chiburbian 01-09-2020 09:42 AM

The dyno is in Illinois. There is a shop near me in Loganville, but I haven't used them yet.

I've rolled around the idea of a hub dyno for my shop, but if I used it often enough to have it pay for itself my neighbors would hate me, and I can't afford to buy one and not make money with it.

Midtenn 01-09-2020 10:49 AM

My attendance is pending Champ Car races and child's birthday, so likely just to hang out.
