here's my map:USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
keep in mind this map is for mspnp my injectors flow 620cc so you'll probably need to adjust my timing is fairly aggressive so be careful and listen for ugly engine noises also this map is a still a little rough and needs touching up for starting, idle, and acceleration enchrichment, plus a few spots in the fuel table for smoothness |
Dan send me your log files....i betcha anythign you lost boost toward redline, otherwise it would have been similar...
you made more power from 2.5K to 4K and then your plots were identical till 5.2K where I suspect you dropped off more boost. |

Incidentally, I posted my results from the VVT experiment on miata.net and you should all read it for the next time you do your timing belts. http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=276072 big gains to be had on both ends of the rev range. |

my setup: greddy turbo, stripes "small fmic", tony 2.5" dp, 2.5" test pipe, 2.75" enuthuza catback. mspnp, 620cc injectors, my first run was 230rwhp but only got worse the more i tinkered with it...15psi tapering to 12 at redline, the drf file is in the ones posted. last time at the same dyno i did 244 rwhp but boost was holding 15psi all the way through. if i get my boost fixed i should be 250+.

my injectors are rx7 550cc injectors, but i sent them out to have them cleaned and tested and they're flowing 620cc/min. May be a bit overkill but right now i'm seeing 60-70% duty cycle. i think i'd be maxing out 460s, i'd like to see paul duty cycles.

I actually just went through and made a hybridized timing map of the one Im running and the one in the .msq you posted. I took the highest advance numbers from each map and popped them into one single map. Take a look. Yours is pretty conservative in some areas but also about 4 degrees more advanced on others. Also by combining the two maps the mid range seems alot smoother. Here is a snap shot if you want me to post the .vex so you can give it a try just let me know.

this looks like a motor popping map... |
The highest i raised any timing number was about 4 degrees and it was in areas of the map that I wont ever hit like 500rpm and 10psi of boost. It not to far off from The timing map i was using. It looks relatively safe to me, just alot smoother...

exported the values from winpep and jammed em into MLV to see my HP & TQ curves against RPM and boost. GEGO(green line) is horsepower. GAIR(red line) is torque.
came up with this http://www.miatamx5.com/dynoruns/4-5...STvsHPvsTQ.jpg oh, and after closer examination of the log file the run was down in the 14psi range with a millisecond here or there into the 15's |
