Default Need HELP with MD inspection! Need to borrow wheels!

Okay, so anyone in MD already knows that the MD state inspection is re-god-damn-diculous.

My car failed for two reasons: 1 was that I was missing the driver's sun visor (dumbest **** I've ever heard)

and 2 was because one of the wheels is slightly bent. I can't feel it on the highway, so it really isn't bad. But, it failed and the guy is a douche. I even offered him a case of beer, he responded that he doesn't drink.

So, I put the passenger side visor on the driver's side. Done.

But, local junk yards don't have any 14" wheels (somehow).

What I need is someone who is pretty close, who has DEAD STRAIGHT wheels that I can borrow to get through inspection. I'll gladly buy you a case of beer for your trouble, instead of the jerkoff inspector.

Can anyone help me out? I want to start selling off my other cars!

I have a full set of NB 14's you could borrow if ya want, Or you could borrow one of my daisy's off my NA, which might work better, since I plan on switching to the NB wheels anyway.

I thought I had it rough for failing for a broken window switch and my wiper blades

That could definitely work. I'm going to go to the MVA tomorrow morning and try to get the temporary tag. I've been driving around too much without a legit plate (using the front one off of another car). I don't want to risk a run up 95. I see cops every day on my way to work.

I work on the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, so I'm practically in your neighborhood every week day.

Let me know your schedule. I'm flexible.

I may need to use two wheels if the rubber on em isn't skeeeeny 185/60.

I've got a mini floor jack, but no stands. All that crap is at my friend's house in Catonsville. If you've got a decent jack, we're in business, if it's just the one for changing a flat, I'll try to go get my other jack.

Let me know, and I really appreciate the offer!

MD inspection = gayer than my car

I'm off tomorrow, but have a few errands to run etc... I have buddies that work on base.

I have a floor jack, it'll work if you aren't 2 inches off the ground like my black car is.

When would you be getting the inspection re-done? I don't mean to be an *** or anything, but not knowing you, I'd feel a bit odd having you running around with my wheels for any extended period of time without some sort of collateral.

Yeah, no problem. I'll check my calender tomorrow. As long as I don't have any meetings, I'll do it during the afternoon tomorrow. (I'll call the shop to make sure senior inspector is in)

My car is stock height, so it's almost high enough to pull the wheels off of without a jack.

I can't think of any interesting collateral, so I'll just use money.

works for me, I have to take my mom to the doctor around 1:00, and pick my black car up from the shop before then.

It looks like I won't have my White car with me tomorrow (my brother needs it) Will the NB 14's be ok? or do you think the inspector is going to be a bitch about them? The tires are basically new on them, but they've been off the car a while sitting in my shed (like 2 years maybe)

As long as two are round, they should be fine. I'll pm you when I get to work.

I passed, thanks to airbrush1!

New problem: my title is no good. Previous owner started to write his name in the space where my name was supposed to go. He scribbled it out, and then wrote my name. Unfortunately the scribble means that the title is now invalid. I have a bill of sale, so there is a chance that the MVA will accept the title transfer. But knowing the MVA, probably not. I'll hear back at 2:30 whether it's accepted or not.

What a pain in the dick all of this has been.

I've never had a problem with MD inspection. Guess it's where you go.

Please post the name and location of the shop that you've had luck with so that the next guy reading this thread has a chance.

BTW don't go to J&H Tires on Eastern Avenue in Essex.

I'm in the Glen Burnie area and there's a gas station on Quarterfield Rd. that has never been a problem. Don't remember the name offhand. It used to be an Exxon but is now "American Gas" or something like that.
