CLIMB TO THE CLOUDS at mt washington is this weekend. Way cooler. Wish it wasnt gunna rain because I would love to drive up and watch

Tis better to drive the hill that watch.
Twenty of us went up it again just last week. Still, a closed course makes for higher speeds as you can use both sides of the road. If I can break free, I'll go to take pics. Giant's dispair also has a nice hill climb in PA as does Waverly. |
That's a really short hill climb. I doubt anyone comes near 130mph unless it's some crazy 600HP 1000lb car.
|
We have an annual hillclimb held in a park (google 'king edward park hillclimb'). Speeds well over 200kph achieved by the faster cars that show up. only like 130 for me...

I topped out around 180kph at a local HC last month. And that was with a straight MUCH longer than posted. Some cars will hit 200 and most people are consistently b/w 160-190kph, but I doubt anyone coming near 130mph at the Pagoda consistently. Perhaps once in a while with some extreme car that shows up.

Here's a few random photos of the cars that were at the Pagoda Hill Climb. I didn't get any good footage of cars running the course, so that sucks.
My favorite car was the Austin Mini. It had an antique plate, which meant it was street legal, but it was right hand drive and the whole interior was gutted except for the cage, 1 seat, and a steering wheel and a tach. This is what I crave as a daily driver due to the fact that I am hardcore. Enjoy! Attachment 21164 Attachment 21165 Attachment 21166 Attachment 21167 Attachment 21168 |

I detect sarcasm...are you being a frat boy?

At some point I'm going to participate in at least one of these. Always meant to with the old racecar and never got around to it.
