Right now I'm at the Dorint hotel at the Nürburgring. Thought I'd share some images before I go to the briefing and diner.
Oh, my instructor is a 60 year old accountant-type-of-person who i funny and probably drivers better than anyone here (at least on the Ring). |

Had lots of fun in the (mostly) wet on R888's (no, there are better tyres out there for that type of weather):

Must be nice to have The Ring within driving distance.
<--Is jealous and only gets to drive it on Gran Turismo. I will drive it when I visit Germany. Chris |
You are my new role model.

I use to go there when I was stationed in Germany. Great place.

Sucks it was wet, nothing like a little rain to put a damper on a trip.

WAT?!? I love the wet. I've had one wet track day in February in the NW. I escaped snow by only a week or two. I partly loved it cause for once I didn't have overheating problems, and for once the all-season tires I race on were better than others $200 r-comps. Plus I secretly like to drift. All day long everyone was spinning. Myself and Gary Brockman were the only two to not spin. Granted he was setting wet track records, and I was just going sideways everywhere, BUT I DIDN'T SPIN DAMMIT! |
Rain is the great equalizer.
I've said this before, but it bears repeating. I used to LOVE watching Ayrton Senna run like a scalded dog in the ran. That man could DRIVE, and was an absolute magician in the wet. I was pretty young, but it seems all the other teams/drivers would just stand there scratching their heads and watch him bring it home for a victory. That has to be why I secretly enjoy driving hard in the rain. I recently had the chance to take one of my favorite roads (just under 60 turns in 11 miles) in the wet practically by myself. This was pre-turbo, and when I was still running the lighter BBS wheels that communicated tire placement so well. When I got to the end of it I stopped, and thought to myself: "There is no way you could have gone a single bit faster down this road in this car in these conditions." Absolutely terrific feeling. |
i would pull
