Default HPDE & TT at Mosport $125/day

HPDE/Time Trial at Mosport July 30 + 31

DISCLAIMER: If you are looking for a wine & cheese or scollops wrapped in bacon type club, stop reading. At COMSCC, we're all about the fast lap.

COM Sports Car Club (COMSCC) is a HPDE & Time Trial club with more than 50 years of performance and competitive driving history. On average, about 30-40% of our field is made up of Miatas, with cars and drivers of all abilities: totally stock to modified beyond reason, 1st timers to long-time racers & instructors.

We're hosting our annual Mosport event on July 30/31. There will be plenty of track time since registration is pretty light. Even if you've never tried a HPDE or Time Trial, you should think about coming!

First time attendees with COM get $100 off, which means it's just $125 for a single day or $325 for 2 days (normal prices are $225/425). You also get a $20 credit per day to apply to a future COMSCC event, such as Watkins Glen or NHMS.

You can expect to get tons of track time. Way more than a typical HDPE / TT event.

COMSCC has been around for a long time, we were incorporated as a member owned non-profit in 1958 and have hosted hundreds and hundreds of events since then. Our time trials stay true to their original intent where the only factors are you, your car, the track, and a stop watch. For the time trial session, we group drivers with similar times into run groups of just 4-5 cars. Cars are released from the pits at 30 second intervals and then you get a warmup lap a handful of hot/competition laps. There won't be anyone slowing you down or pestering your back bumper; if you catch someone you get to run again, and if you get caught by someone there's no penalty. This makes our time trial a very safe way to go run 3_perfect_ laps without any traffic. It's very low stress and safe, but also very, very competitive. For example, the top 5 finishers in our ST4 class (very popular with Miatas) were 0.7s within one another at our most recent event!

The bottom line is that The time trial is all about you, your car, and the track. Turn your best laps without worrying about anyone slowing you down and without having to check your rear view mirror.

After the time trial is complete, all drivers are able to run in the open track session. If the time trial goes well, there's often 2-2.5 hours of open track at the end of the day.

We host a BBQ (burgers/dogs/paper plates/BYOB) after the checker is thrown for the day on Monday, and a trophy presentation at the end of the day on Tuesday.

See COM Sports Car Club for more info and feel free to register and post questions on our very active member forums at COM Sports Car Club • Index page

One more thing. Mosport is an incredible track. Of all of the tracks I have been to, it is my favorite. Mosport, a former Formula 1 track, provides a world-class driving experience. If you are a track-nut and have not been to Mosport, you should put it on your bucket list and get there. If you can't make it to this event, then do yourself a favor and get there any way you can (though I'm pretty confident that the COMSCC experience is unbeatable ). The commute for me is about 10 hours, and it is totally worth it.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Will

That's pretty cheap for the big track. I will come if my schedule permits

Nice! It would be great to meet some Canadian MT.net members. Bring friends, tires, brakes, and gas. I will likely go open track for most of the event. Registration is very light this year.

That said, 95% of us will be coming from the states. If you're in the northeast and haven't crossed the boarder yet...DO IT!

Mosport is my favorite track. Between Mont Tremblant, Mosport, and now Calabogie, Canadians keep proving that they know how to build amazing race tracks!

It is a 10 hour tow for me. Been doing it for years. Totally worth it! That said, I'll post info about our September 2-day event at Watkins Glen soon.

I logged 525 track miles at a COMSCC 2-day event at Mosport. 525 miles in 2 days!

Day 1: Tow 500 miles with caravan of friends, arrive to track, setup camp
Day 2 + Day 3, 525 track miles, including podium finish/record
Day 3 evening: Start 500-mile caravan home, sleep-over in Upstate NY.
Day 4: Arrive home, unpack, sleep.
Days 5-12: Sport giant grin on face.

The trip isn't bad at all, especially if you are rolling with friends & FRS/GMRS radios.

Sounds like a good time, but too far for me. Definitely post up about Watkins Glen! I've been dying to get up there.
