Tuesday, Sonic has $1.00 burgers.

Thursday, Yello Belly charges $6.00 and racing is free. Ladies get in for $3.00. There aren't all the thugs on thursday. I admitt, Sundays can get a little uncomfortable at dark.LOL.......Thursdays are just normal Joes and ricers burning rubber.

Sundays name a dragstrip. We'll eat some Hondas.

Or... Anyplace & time we can meet up.

Bond 10-12-2009 01:09 AM

Sonic ALWAYS has $1 breakfast burritos. Those are the deal of the century.

What is Yello Belly?

Toddcod 10-12-2009 01:41 AM

A old 1/8th mile dragstrip. I think it was one of the (or mabe) first in DFW.

apariah 10-12-2009 03:05 AM

I have class in Garland on Thursdays until 9pm. I'd be ok with anywhere reasonable on Tuesdays or Sundays. I have to admit I've always been told to avoid Yellow Belly, but I'm always game to go a track I've never been to before. The place can't be that bad right?

Toddcod 10-12-2009 12:40 PM

On Sunday, Yello Belly is ok for a few hrs. But It does have some rift raft. As long as you don't bet money your good. But when the crowd shows up (6:00pm) drinking. I leave.......I would recomend somewhere else on sundays.

I just really like the shaded parking and being able to pill my car up to watch the race. I hate standing in the sun in the summer. I also grew up in a area that had good folks and thugs.... So I can get along anywhere. BUT I wouldn't want to meet here on Sun.

But Thursdays are cool. there isn't very many people, and everyone is there just to have a good time. They don't fire,or sweep the pad etc (unless there is a issue). It is more none serious, come out and lay the rubber down, without worring about cops.

But is on Jefferson Davis. I will let you know when I'm going. The more the merry'er.
but I don't think many would like to go there.

There are plenty of places we can meet that everyone will like. Kenendale, or motor speedway on sundays would probably be better.
Tuesdays I'm straight game too.

hustler 10-12-2009 01:22 PM

Yeah, um...I am not going to Yellow Belly, ever. There's way too many murders/stabbings/shootings there and I am not joking.

rharris19 10-12-2009 02:22 PM

I'm just south of Houston

gospeed81 10-12-2009 02:49 PM

karter74 is no longer in College Station. He graduated...got a badass job and a house in Dallas (forgot which side of town). I haven't seen him around...

I am in College Station during the week still, and Willis/North Houston Fri-Sun and days I don't have classes.

I wouldn't make a meet there for the masses either.

You didn't mention where you would want to go?

apariah 10-13-2009 02:26 AM

What time do they close on Tursdays? Do you ever seen any quick non v8 roadsters, miata's, s2000's, MR-S, or Sky's?

Manly acuras, mustangs, cavaliers etc.

apariah 10-13-2009 07:05 PM

Looks like this thursday is the last for this month, I don't know how long the season last.
TXR Calendar. The rain is delaying me getting my car back, its been pushed back to Friday, so I can't make it. But if you go on Sunday, or want to meet somewhere else next tuesday night let me know.

BTW I just realized this track is Kennendale, not Yellow Belly.

Is this really what Yellow Belly is like?

Toddcod 10-13-2009 11:28 PM

That said 1996. That has to be the reason they got a bad wrap. That is rediculous.

Thursdays isn't like that.

But kennedale would be the place to go. I work this sunday. Mabe next.

hustler 10-13-2009 11:35 PM

I am certain that if I showed up and picked off a few v8's, at the least I'd end up with flat tires. Gotta hedge dat bet, son.

apariah 10-14-2009 07:39 AM

Thats cool, it gives my paint a little more time to cure.

Looking at that crowd I could maybe see that, but when I was racing sport bikes, I was told to stay away from that place partially because of gambling. I have no interest in gamblng, but I was told either winning or losing a race could piss people off depending on who had money on that race. However, I was also told its much better if you go out in a group, and as long as you leave when things look like they might get a little hairy, you should be fine.

I've run several cars and bikes a Kennendale, so I have no issues going to Mansfield, on a Sunday. I would also go to Yellow Belly If I was in even a small group, but unlike Kennendale I would not bring my daughter to that place.

My point is I think most guys would be fine, but if the shit hits the fan don't want to have to worry about my girls. I'm still in.

Hustler, if a group of turbo miatas showed up and beat a couple of v8's, I would bet it would be more shock than anything. But it seems like Todd is saying the night he wants to go in is mainly imports and sport compacts. Thats not the crowd I saw in that video.

And again, if it starts to get bad, we leave!

I won't be picking off much of anything anytime soon. Even so, I'd be happy to watch and be entertained by such things.

Yellow Belly - no thanks
Kennedale - not a huge fan, but maybe it's gotten better since I last went in '01. Have they paved the parking area?
Denton Dragway - generally decent, mostly classics and F-body/mustang folks the times I've gone. No worries of being shot. ;)

I'm out for anything Sun-Thurs evening, as I generally am up & about at 4:30a...and that's already ugly enough as-is.
