Default First TMC video - Personal Best

For the record, I played it safe and never went off track. My blistering time of 1:29.045 was good enough to get me Fifth Place in Unlimited. Here's something funny: if I would have been allowed to run in Modified, that time would have got me.......Fifth Place as well!

Anyway, enjoy the one-lap video featuring Hustler. He's the dot in the distance that I'm chasing.

Good video. I like the perspective. What did you shoot that with?

Thanks. If you can't see the hood bulge, your camera isn't high enough.

My camera is a Sony Handycam from a few years ago. It uses MiniDV cassettes. I also have a wide conversion (x 0.6) lens, also from Sony.

Cool. I have been thinking of doing the same. Your video has put me over the fence.

Magnum XL.

Wait.. was that a serious question? and were you asking me? If so, I run 245s all around, but I'm dropping to 225s for TWS (though going to an autocross compound). I hope to offset the loss of grip with a stickier tire while knocking the frontal area way down. At H2R going from 235 to 245 knocks my top speed at the end of the straights down by about 3 mph (and that's only a 100mph straight), so I'm thinking that going to 225 would have a huge impact at TWS - especially if I can keep grip levels around 1.4g sustained.

Thanks, that's an excuse that I can live with. Hopefully that front-straight at TWS is good to me.

Man.... you do that on a bike in turn one and it most likely ends with your dick firmly embedded in the dirt and your bike in pieces. Fortunately it is rare for anyone to crash in T1-T2 during races or track days. Fear of death is an effective restraint.

We definitely should do some GPS data comparisons to see how everyone takes the turn 1-2 combo, car and tire differences taken into consideration. Braking points, entry speeds, exit speeds, g-loads, etc. It should be useful information. A lot of time can be gained there. I gained 5 seconds on braking alone in T1 (on a bike) when I finally took my skirt off.

Braking? Turn 1? Heck no.

Lol I agree! I take turn 1 flat banging off the revlimiter @ 132mph on street tires.

Now turn 2, thats where you really need the stoppers!

0086, Geezer and I all run traqmates, so we'll have data to compare. though none of us have much in common in our set ups.

Awesome. I was wondering about that. On bikes we can go through there at 130-140 with less traction. I think I'll be trying that, though easier said than done... ***don't lift, don't lift, don't lift fuckthisisfastiamgonnadie don't lift, don't lift ***

Any brakes needed for turn 7 at the end of the back straight? I suspect not much for the same reasons. I am having deja vu here so pardon me if it is asked and answered. Perhaps I need to do some more youtube surfing for TWS in-car videos with telemetry.

I'm a bit of a pansy in 7. I'm up to 108mph on the back straight, then down to about 95mph at apex. There's room on exit, but I haven't worked up to being flat.

Similarly in turn 12, I approach at 97mph, but I'm at 89 at apex.

All if that data is on street tires.

So with NT01s and aero I should be able to go flat out around the whole track

Awesome. I'm going to shoot for 1:30s then. I mean this is TT so I really only have to pull it off once.
