Default TxMC round 5 @ Texas World Speedway!

yes, we're revisiting TWS for our next round of the challenge on july 31st. possibly the only track we see twice this year, with one twist! this time we'll be going clockwise. a couple neat challenges arise from this, going downhill on turn 7 (big banked turn before the back straight) makes it easy to overdo it and put wheels off. turn 1 onto the frt. straight is awesome because you gain speed throughout it, also allows you to reach a higher speed on the straight which makes for an interesting turn into the chicane off the banking!

makes sure you bring water and *****. you'll need plenty of each!!!

here's a vid. wich doesn't do justice to the elevation changes happening.

I got that beat - not high-def, but entertaining:

TWS clockwise

your "gonna be too hot" excuse was good enough. you didn't have to come up with a new one. we'll see ya at h2r in sept. or eagles canyon in oct.

That drive with no AC is pretty shitty, lol. 100* heat and racing sucks.

I'm reading this as not an excuse, but "put savings on hold and go race.." Cmon trey, you know you want to LOL. You are getting consistently faster each event and it's all about seat time...

Speaking of seat time, ecr is having a trackday this saturday and me and some locals (zo6 and s2k) are going to play some tag...(dang, I really wish he hadn't let me drive his zo6, mmmmm). Gates open at 6am...

With tws being the most central track, I would think this round might have pretty good attendance. Come out and support the txmc.

not necessarily. first YOU would have to show up. then you'd have to get past quan's nc, and possibly a mazdaspeed if he makes it. talk is cheap

Man, the track and dental work are a combo for me this year. For Houston I had 2-crowns on the day before (a good excuse for my poor performance) and I have 2 cavities to get filled tomorrow. We'll see how much money I bleed out tomorrow and if I can endure farting more money out of my account for the track.

This is what happens when you don't see a dentist for 5-years.

I doubt I will make it. I still need to raise the diff in the car and rebuild the halfshafts to avoid a repeat of what happened there last time. I suppose I could bring the street car... hmmm... The brakes will suck, but who needs brakes anyway? I need some seat time damn it. I have done a gazillion laps at TWS going counter-clockwise, but not one clockwise, and I'd like to try that.

Hey, wait a second, is this on the 30th (Friday) or the 31st (Saturday, NASA HPDE)?

why wouldn't you drive the "street" car? is it really the street car? seems to me that's the only car that's seen any track duty. realisticly, you lsmiata is your street car/garage queen until further notice. lol... sorry, but we need you out there man!

btw: my brakes never even get close to hot at tws. most brakes zones require nothing more than a 1 sec. jab.

Funny stuff

I'm working on it. One way or the other I hope to be out there. Believe it or not, due to an ECU problem, the street car is offline right now as well. So both Miatas are down right now, again...

Stop piddiling with the v8 and bring the one that has all the customz shizz yo!

Seriously, that the reason for TWO miatas right

I took out my 90 for a spin and thought it was broken before I remembered it only has 100whp and needs to be rung out to go. Kinda fun really...

Anybody know what a good target time for the cw config is? Faster or slower than ccw?

Steve, got any cw files to share? Colin is not near his pc for a while..

Just about a week to blast off. Can't wait to run it
