Jebus that thing is FAST!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!

emilio700 05-16-2018 02:04 AM

Running 1400/700 springs now. 1.25" front, SPM .56" rear on full stiff. Hyper is on 1300/600 I think.

ThePass 05-16-2018 12:23 PM

^ Yep, 1300/600 currently. 1.25" x 0.188" front Karcepts bar (zero bushing or arm flex), 15mm rear. Not quite enough spring for the Hoosiers in the dry I suspect.

I was thinking last night that we should bring some stiffer springs for your setup. Rig is gone so we'll have to fly with them, ugh.

When Vegas is running on 275/295 with the full skirted flat bottom, giant diffuser and another 150whp, I suspect it will need something like 1700/900.
Strange territory we are venturing into.

Ryan, will you be running NASA TT at all? I'm wondering if your car can fall in TT2, could be a chance at some more purple crack :D

Holy sheeet! Will Vegas be running drop-spindles as well, which changes the required spring-rate, no?

UTCC only. Car is now up to spec to run NASA TT (had to move the battery and a couple other details) but the nut behind the wheel still has to attend a TT in the SoCal region to get signed off for a license, just haven't had time for that yet.

Also, current front aero does not fit TT1-3 dimensional restrictions. I have plans to make an alternate front for TT2 at some point. Other than the front aero, the car can fit in TT2 with a bit of ballast. Pretty sure I'd run it on Rivals like I do in GTA; there's an additional power:weight allowance for >100 tw tires so could run less ballast, and I'm already doing TT2 record pace / borderline TT1 pace on the street tires at SoCal tracks.

k24madness 05-16-2018 07:54 PM

Ryan, no license needed for TT in NASA.

You guys are giving me evil thoughts about a new front splitter. The current one is removable. Swapping in a more robust one for TT and more rear wing (& end plates) should help with downforce.

NASA Norcal must be weird.

I've got hard TT Licence cards going back 6+ years. $20 a year to renew, application process, DE4 check rides, etc.

k24madness 05-16-2018 08:10 PM

It’s all the chronic up here :-)

I should have checked current rules before making statement though. Was not long ago I raced without license in TT. If it’s changed I have not heard of it. Makes sense no license since most of the cars are not race prepped.

Update....Just confirmed you need one up here now too. I wish I could neg cat myself!

Carry on....sorry to pollute a fine thread.

ThePass 05-17-2018 01:12 AM

I've pos catted your request for a neg cat. Sometimes you just can't get what you want ;)

Then why do you need to apply for a TT license and pay the fee then the national office mails you a TT License hard card...

Edit: Didn't read all posts. Yeah. Licenses...

flier129 05-17-2018 09:44 AM

All this license talk made me realize I never received my hard copy of my TT license. Still have the receipt, so I'm still gtg.

Weather is looking a tad better, mostly for Sunday lol. Maybe Team Just Gonna Send It will be able to poke the TTE record. Even though I haven't been to ViR in 3 years and I think it's been 6+ years for Dan  Whatever, I'm packing sticker tires just in case.

FatKao 05-17-2018 07:38 PM

My car is still at the shop getting pulled back into the correct shape, but I'll likely swing by with the kid on Saturday to BS with people. The NASA-MA PTE and TT records are stupid soft at VIR.

Hope you guys got wets. For weather you'll want to look at 'Alton, VA' or 'Milton, NC.'

ThePass 05-17-2018 09:06 PM

Just landed at GSO, watching the forecast for Alton, VA. Friday (UTCC) is guaranteed wet with a 60% chance of rain in the AM building to full bore 100% by noon. Saturday not much better, Sunday is currently predicting AM showers. Might be a chance for good lap times for the ST/TT guys on Sunday.

Braineack 05-18-2018 08:31 AM

yeah its been raining all damn week out here. not typical.

FatKao 05-18-2018 09:00 AM

It's spring in the southeast, nothing is typical.

IcantDo55 05-18-2018 09:25 AM

It's weird seeing your cars on the right coast. It's also totally dry down in Raleigh right now. You guys just barely got hit.

Yeah, what's with all the green trees and rain? West Coast tracks are all surrounded by sand and rocks unless you get up in the rainforests where Aiden is.
