190WHP Miata vs 300WHP Mazdaspeed 3

I have no idea who made these videos or where they were ;)

But there you go if you want to see what the match up would be like. Close to 100mph going by the camera, very close to 1/4 mile runs. Miata is running 9-10ish psi on a GT2560 and made 195hp or so on a mustang dyno.

Mazdaspeed 3 has bolt ons and made 300whp on the same mustang dyno.

Sorry for the piss poor lighting, but its dead deserted out in that area past 10pm.

I see barn doors up front.

Out of three runs, only lost once by less than a car after missing third.

Beat a Cobalt SS Stg II as well. Cobalt was surprisingly fast, was only a little slower than the MS3.

Yeah I was relatively surprised. I thought at least with that power he'd start pulling on whoever that law breaker was in 4th and 5th, but nay.

Fixed.:)

Lots of flat, straight roads in parts of Florida, but Tallahassee has some great curvy, hilly ones. It was fun to drive north of town back when I lived there.

There is tons of really good back roads up here. Nice 40-50mph curves. Plus it's dead deserted anywhere more than 10 min outside of town.

We usually get some good cruises going and head up into S. GA for some fun on the roads lined with live oaks and farm houses.

Wow, standing next to the road while two cars are going 100mph is crazy but what ever.

At the drags in Portland after the Corksport open house there were several speed 3's running. After seeing that I'm not suprised by the wins. One of them was wheel hopping so hard I figured something would have to break. Took him about 5 runs to figure out how to slip the clutch. Still slow as hell.
