576whp Turbo Miata on Streetfire
Does anyone know who owns this car? Details on setup?
It looks like it has an aftermarket intake manifold. I'm trying to determine if that is a BP or if that is an FE series engine. http://www.streetfire.net/video/576w...yno_420494.htm |
I thinks his sn is eliminator in m.net. I don't recall seeing him here.

i need that in my life.....

I like how eliminator doesn't understand the concepts of math or how HP is calculated...

^^ Why does it matter, why hate? He makes 600+ whp that's all that matters, his car is a beast.

Did that hit a nerve?:giggle:

i hope some of you guys are being sarcastic. if it doesn't cross @ 5252rpm, it's NOT right. well, as accurate as a "horsepower" can be. there isn't a dyno in the world that can measure horespower. they all measure torque and the horsepower is calculated. the formula for calculating horsepower involves dividing by 5252. if the rpm/torque don't cross there it wasn't calculated right. having a turbo car (large turbo to be exact) on a no-load dyno will change the shape of the graph, it won't change where they cross. it can affect the peak horsepower reading if the turbo can't spool up to full boost by redline, (my buddies 1,000+ whp supra comes to mind) but that's it.
|
Isn't the reason some of them don't cross there because they have tq and hp on different scales or whatever? Meaning if they were combined they'd cross correctly.

^Win for 18psi.

sometimes, but not when there's an idiot running the dyno, or when someone wants the graph to read higher or lower on purpose.
in my friends case, it wasn't that the dyno guy was an idiot, but it was during a dyno day and he had all sorts of cars getting on the dyno one after another. he wasn't chacking to make sure it was setup correctly. my buddy's graph WAS scaled the same, but he didn't realize until he showed it to me that the graph showed he let off at 8,000 rpm on his gto. also with bolt-ons it showed he made 3xxwhp with 521 ft/lbs of torque. which i knew wasn't right. what were you saying chriscar? |
Crushing lap records > my life of track mediocrity > breaking records that don't matter
|
just wanted to point out i'm not bashing the whoever owns that car or disputing how much power it puts out. someone asked about the cross point and others were like "it doesn't matter"
no matter what a dyno says, if your running that turbo with that much boost, your making some serious power. |
Hard to read the dyno screen, but love the way it sounds...like a plane taking off.
