Ariel Atom What?!?!
Impressive. But I'd take the Ariel Atom!
That whip ain't clearing any speed humps. |
holy shit thats fast!
I'd also take the Atom. Still impressive. Still ugly as sin though.
Apex speed fail.
+1 for Atom, thing looks like a pile of elephant turd.
Especially considering that pile is $50k for the good one, and built it yourself. The base K20 powered Atom is also right at $50k, and prebuilt...
Let's see... the DP4 is lighter, quicker, has AWD, and costs ~$50k for a DIY version and looks at least similar to a proper race car.
The Atom is heavier, slower, 2WD, and costs $50k for a pre-built version I'd have to disassemble and make sure it's put together right before it ever hit a track anyway, and it looks like it's half finished. I'll take the DP4... |
DP4, please.
fuck that car, i want to run that track
well then gimme ur atom u cant drive a dp4 to the track with out a trailer. So atom ftw.
dp4 needs a driver mod

With more ground clearance/signals would the DP4 be road legal-able/useable?
Whats road legal matter when you have either? If you can fork down the 50k for it, you can drop the needed cash for a 2,000 dollar trailer your old ladies SUV can pull.
atom for me too. as badass as this thing is, it is about as useful as a go-kart. atom you can actually drive around town.

Wish I'd been there to see it run. That's the same outfit I run track days with and built the V8 hyabusa engined Atom I took pictures of last year. I've never been terribly impressed by the guys driving, he's really a bike guy. Looks like that was going to be a 2:03/2:04 lap. I turn pretty consistent 2:07/2:08 laps on the same track with some really old Avons. I'm hoping to run a couple seconds quicker this season with new rubber. Pfadt racing's Z06 turns 1:56/1:57 laps.
ORP is a great damn track. We're lucky to have it in the NW now. Pacific and PIR aren't up to snuff with what you Cali and TX guys have available. |
