I honestly can't see the point in buying one of these. I mean, it's $120k and it doesn't even fly. Who would waste their money on this thing when your other option is this?

But seriously, because of the fact that the smaller engine, supercharger and turbo (and the transmission to which they were attached) were all mass produced off-the-shelf parts from major manufacturers, rather than something custom-made by Hartley Engineering specifically for that one car in a small batch, mated to a bespoke Sadev sequential-shift gearbox.
Also, for the same reason that a cup holder costs $950 if you buy it from Porsche. Also because they only produced 25 V8 Atoms in total, in order to create artificial scarcity aka "exclusivity." |

i didn't realize the v8 atoms were so custom one-off. I saw a few of them down at VIR, since they live there. |
