Georgia Mountain Roads w/Doppleganger and RotorNut
16 Attachment(s)
My buddy Gary and I took a ride up to Georgia in his Nissan to see if what they said was true, that roads didn't have to be built on level ground and along east-west or north-south survey lines. I was skeptical. I decided to leave my Miata at home because it was on stock power and so that we could trade off driving/have a conversation.
We were meeting up with Doppleganger, RotorNutFD3S, Steve-o with the EVO, all of which had girlfriends as their passengers, and a fellow with a turbocharged and meth injected NC who's name escapes me at this time. We were set to meet up in Dahlonega, but we were running behind because we stopped to buy replacements for fouling plugs. Attachment 198942 So we called ahead and actually found each other on GA400 on the way up. RotorNut's car on GA400: Attachment 198943 We almost added to a big pileup that happened on 400 and Steve's EVO had a bad seal on his new radiator's bottom hose which required a pit stop but we finally made it. Attachment 198944 Attachment 198945 Then just as we got into a good section of road we ended up stuck behind some asshole carrying a poorly engineered piece of Milwaukee excrement in the back of his poorly engineered truck. And he really was an ass. (Autofocus issues) Attachment 198946 We got to the end of one leg of the trip and decided to stop for fuel and a stretch. Attachment 198947 Attachment 198948 Attachment 198949 Attachment 198950 The pace really picked up after that stop. And we kept the spacing somewhat wide initially. The weather was really nice. Attachment 198951 They really do make roads that curve a little... Attachment 198952 Doppleganger! Attachment 198953 It looks like he's got a friend. Attachment 198954 Tachometer says what? Attachment 198955 I love a road with some camber changes. Attachment 198956 Attachment 198957 More to follow. I'm at work right now. The best part is yet to come. |
Looks like fun, I wish I could have gone.

Hey Steve, it's Steve with the Evo. It was nice to meet you and Gary and hopefully we can setup another meet in the future. :)
|
That r33(?) is a little ricey for my taste, but I'd still drive the hell out of it ;) Overall looks like a pretty good road, and some great vehicles to enjoy it in!
|
Hopefully I can make the next trip.

George's uphill sequence.
Sorry about the lousy camera work, but the still pictures belie just how fast this sequence took place and how much I was fighting to keep the heavy Nikon on target. I love how you call it a "nissan"
you know... no big deal. I love seeing skylines in the US |

And headed back down from the pass...
Note the big-ass f-ing cliff on the left with no railing and a completely blind curve. Attachment 198922 Where'd he go? Attachment 198923 Attachment 198924 I love this curve. Attachment 198925 Attachment 198926 Attachment 198927 [talking dirty] Oh yeah, you like it back the other way, too, don't ya bitch? Attachment 198928 Attachment 198929 Attachment 198930 Tight little turn... And yes, that's the steering wheel in the picture. Attachment 198931 Attachment 198932 More pics soon. |
On the last run up 129, you missed me doing some mad tyte dorifto actioning :giggle:
|
Some good looking cars. Dig that NC....will be my next project I believe.
|
Damn that's a good looking NC. And what a driver! :D
But seriously. Did you guys notice how flat that car looks in those high-g turns? Is that too flat? |
George! Don't be a stranger in here. There aren't many folks running boostesses in their NCs up in here.
And I've got more pics to post yet. Some more are of your car as well. Didn't any of you take pictures besides me? Let's see them. |
