If anyone cares: I went to California.

And these are my pictures:

I didn't meet up with anyone from here because I was too busy eating the food.

I have been spolied by the strawberries out that way, ill never be able to eat them out here again; they just taste like water in comparison.

Joe Perez 06-10-2014 02:42 PM

Now you can see why I liked the place so much. :D

dieselmiata 06-10-2014 02:48 PM

Looks like a nice place. Your shots of the RR make me want to go back out to sea. I do miss those days.

shuiend 06-10-2014 02:52 PM

Braineack has turned blue.

curly 06-10-2014 02:56 PM

You should come to Oregon. We make Californian strawberries taste like strawberry flavored water.

Miater 06-10-2014 03:10 PM

Nice pics. Good looking kittie.

Was the trip all pleasure?

It's always the best to grow your own, strawberries.

If you ever get enough sunlight to make them grow ;)

...but enough about that.

I wish I had known you were driving through Big Sur, I could have given you some notes on where to stop for some local color. The deck at Nepenthe isn't bad though, great view when its not all fogged in. I'm guessing you didn't stop by Hearst Castle?

Point Lobos is great, but its looking a little trampled these days. One of the Rangers there named Chuck is a friend, he's funny as hell. He's one of those guys who's never going to retire.

Tmorgan 06-10-2014 04:24 PM

you drove right past me on the 101 and didnt even stop to say hi... thats rude

y8s 06-10-2014 04:49 PM

brain, stop buying your strawberries out of season on sale and you'll know what is up.

the reason they are so good in california is because:
a) it is strawberry season
b) you drove within 2 minutes of the watsonville strawberry fields
c) 5 figure restaurant budget

the strawberries we've been getting here at the farmers market are red on the inside. not like that white ass factory shit.

18psi 06-10-2014 06:02 PM

1.5 hours away

and didn't even stop by to have ze buttsecks.

tsk tsk tsk

Doppelgänger 06-10-2014 06:11 PM

California.....Oregon's dirty sock.

EO2K 06-10-2014 06:16 PM

California's gone full retard, I'd move to Oregon in a heartbeat if I had a job lined up.

SchmoozerJoe 06-10-2014 07:53 PM

So, how was FL?
Did you enjoy all their freshly grown vegetables from the garden next to the highway?

Absolutely. I wanna go back like asap. I already got bug bites from being outside here yesterday for about 5 minutes without bug spray.

I started the trip at 9am, by the time we got there I was pretty much done.

We saw as we drove by. We stopped at the Neverland Ranch gates instead ;)

Got cold and windy as hell when we got there, maybe 6:00-6:30pm. But it was neat, just wish the micro-climate didn't take such a change once we got there.

We were done at that point. I was going to drive through Carmel, then Monterrey, and then up to Santa Cruz, but we just cut over to the 101 to make our way to El Cerrito.

I was in Orlando...It was called Hollywood, CA and Pier 39 in San Francisco.

Almost saw Angelina Jolie, but got so sick of Hollywood:

Did get to meet Wolfgang Puck though:

Honestly I wish we skipped San Fran the second day and went to Sacramento or Lake Tahoe instead. We had a Bay tour we paid for, but it was so damn cold and windy that Monday...

18psi 06-10-2014 08:19 PM

I'm not a fan of the city. Srs. Tahoe is way better. Carmel is purrrrdy last time I was there, you shoulda gone there. And rented one of savs cars and took it down hwy1.
