Fat car + 700/400 I'm sure. They're working for me, though. I have suspension travel left in the corners.

Car is about 2580 or so without me in it (full tank). 2770 with. Stripped interior is not in this cars' future so I have to deal with the weight.

Edit: I'm also running on the softer of the two holes on the front sway bar, which is allowing more lean. I don't want to run the stiffer setting until I can get some more front camber, probably with offset bushings - I don't really want to lower the car any more than it is now. I have a touch of understeer as is. The car is really sensitive to the rear wing, one more notch induces notable understeer.

Maybe I'll go ahead and try it my next day on 5/5. Reduce the wing a notch, soften the front shocks a notch, stiffen the front sway.

Data capture from last two track days. Data capture device was an Aim Solo, 10hz GPS. The comparison is between myself (1.30.5) and Eddie Nakato, a much more experienced driver (1.29.7) in my car. Essentially similar conditions although on different days. Mine is first, followed by Eddies', followed by the two overlayed together.

Data video fun! GPS replay of the two laps.

So what did I learn from this?
The big gains for Eddie were in T7, leading onto the back straight, and T12, leading onto the front straight. Other than that we were essentially identical. I might gain some back in T10/T11. So T7 and T12 are where I need to find time.

On-track vids with data overlayed! If I were truly a baus, I would separate out the two laps from these videos for you. Alas, tonight I lack bausness. I am in first video, fast lap around 11:00; Eddie is in second video; fast lap starts around 5:10.

Note that the on-screen laptime display does not exactly match the laptime reported in the datafile itself. It's some artifact of RaceRender.

It's funny how you're more aggressive in T10/11, and less aggressive in T12. I say it's funny because of all the spins that happened in 10/11, and how relatively safe T12 is. Definitely some time there.

Looks like there's a small amount of time in the chicane. Which makes sense, as that's a complex...complex of turns.

Being .8 off Eddie isn't anything to be ashamed of though. I'm sure he wasn't going 10/10ths, but be careful trying to get close to his times at a track day.

T12 is right in front of Bennie, so it's almost always 9/10ths. T7 I can definitely work on.

Bennie doesn't care as long as you don't spin. Intake the spec miata line of dropping a tire at the point and drifting all the way to the wall on exit. Keeps speed up great. I posted some video in the laz thread that has your car in it for a few laps.

Autocrossed Saturday and Sunday. I'll load breathtakingly educational videos later of my hammer-fisted driving style. For now a teaser shot.
