holy ratfucked engine bay batman

kotomile 09-08-2010 03:37 PM

I'd trade his ratfucked 99/Absurdflow engine bay for my clean 1.6/Greddy engine bay anyday. ;)

I tightened up that cam and I'm taking it to the Mustang dyno next week. Once I snugged that guy up the car started driving right, again.

I dunno, I use them for different stuff. I like'em all.

18psi 09-08-2010 11:11 PM

Ok more specific question: between the sc and the turbo one: putting around town, traffic, daily commuting, basically places that are not the freeway where you can really wind the car up to redline, is the sc more fun? I'm no supercharger fan by any means, but people keep raving about throttle response and having that extra 30 (or whatever it is lol) wtq below 3k blah blah blah.
Is that about right?
I was recently toying with the idea of a daily miata with a sc on it. Nothing else. Keep it as reliable and responsive as possible without breaking shit while making it able to pass the occasional prius on the street.

And keep my current slut for those time I want to rape face:D

Doppelgänger 09-08-2010 11:55 PM

I've had two tweaked JRSC setups, they're fun for daily driving on the street, are pretty reliable, make cool noises. Go drive a 05-06 MINI S and you'll get an idea of what s/c life is like...preferable find one that has a aftermarket intake. Not fast...but def. very fun...it really is like a V6 Miata. I'd think you would like it....and still have the fun car for when you want to really go fast.

I was hoping to hear something along those lines:)

My friends girl has a Cooper S with an intake. Drove it a few times. LIked it except for the disconnected rubbery bmw shifter/clutch.

hmmmmm

It's his patented manifold cooler - you know, to cool the manifold. :)
