on a side note, i want to know what wheels those are on that silvia.... |
^^^ +1
This is what I'm planning for my car. I'm going satin black with gloss black wheels. |
I was thinking about this as well, as my paint is murdered and my rockers infront of my rear wheels are rusted (does anyone know a fix for that btw.) Besides, my crusty hanabis are already that color.

go for it.
i'm actually thinking of vinyl wrapping mine in flat black this fall/winter. :-) |
flat black is fucking gay and heinous. Its really really really really difficult to maintain too.
http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/imag...al56_lg_06.jpg That is vinyl which I highly suggest over paint in any and every capacity. I would have done vinyl on mine (UPS brown) if it weren't such an awesome green. |

It looks fairly cool, but it's a fad that's pretty much on its way out. Could look dated pretty soon. Your call.
Wheels on the S15 look like Work Meister S1. |

I'd love for my miatas to be white. Please don't flat brim it.

i don't think this is true. but regardless, this is one of the nice things about vinyl wrapping rather than painting. if you decide you don't like it, your current ratty paint will still be there when you take it off. :fawk: |
It is a fad. Keep the contrast of the white and black. It looks awesome and mean as fuck the way it is.
|
The only way you can pull off flat black is with a high-end car ... it's a bitch to maintain and having it on something you use/abuse on a regular basis is NOT going to be fun (vinyl may fair better than paint in this aspect, no experience there) but regardless on something like a miata it's going to look cheap and unfinished, almost like you rattle canned it with black primer like some honda-ricer fag.
|
Matte vinyl can look pretty good. Leave it white though, or do something crazy...its only $200 in vinyl.
|
Some cars can pull it off and some can't. Miatas fall into the can't group imo.
|
I wouldn't do flat black if I was you it makes the cars look like shit but hey you wanna do it let's go I got my gun ready.
|
Has that neat batmobile appeal. I think miata's are to small to pull it off...but not that bad to keep lookin good if you do a base coat black and use a satin clear coat.
|
Ugh, another flat black car.
Matte would be awesome. Personally. I like the blues. Your car like this. Would be tits. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2511/...0e296da22f.jpg |
satin = good
flat = not good |
