Currently she's getting some body work done from a fender bender on track. It was unfortunate, but a great excuse to upgrade the aero =). I should get it back shortly.

+1. I love Miatas because they are so much lighter, but an LSx FD is my obtainable dream car.

I'm A rotard so I'll have to go with a 20B n/a fd as my dream fd. Or a 20B t88 if I wanted to go turbo.

Efini~FC3S 02-21-2012 10:15 AM

I love me some FD...

Faeflora 02-21-2012 10:26 AM

Do FD guys feel the same way about Miatas?

18psi 02-21-2012 10:52 AM

So wait, you own a sexi FD that deserves a million pictures and all we get is some crappy pos semi side shot?

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Fireindc 02-21-2012 11:00 AM

Oh mommy..

Scrappy Jack 02-21-2012 01:03 PM

How long/how many miles have you owned it and how many engines has that chassis seen?

rharris19 02-21-2012 01:13 PM

I am torn between one of these, an older NSX, or an Elise in the next year or so. Looks really clean and I love the bronze wheels on there. Much jealousy here.

We love miatas. Well okay at least a lot of us do. Miatas drive a bit differently but they are just as much fun and MUCH less stressful to build and maintain.

101k on the chassis, 20k on the engine (new matched rotors, new housings, 3mm seals). I've owned it for 3 years now I think. Before this I had a S5 N/A FC and a S5 TII FC.

If you want simple, fast, easy to take care of, Elise is the clear choice.

As far as I've read, old NSXs need suspension work to get it to handle. Honda reversed the spring rates between the 2 generations because they found it to be hard to drive. And there were also a lot of other changes between 1st gen and 2nd gen. But then a 2nd gen is unaffordable so...

FD, obviously I love mine to death. But it does take a lot of commitment. But judging from the general skill level and DIY abilities of this forum, you guys wouldn't have any problems. And I just want to say what I've said 100 times before. Reliability on FD really isn't an issue if you make the proper modifications (cooling, replacing coolant tank, running proper lubrication, etc). All the stories of exploding FDs comes from kids who treat it like a supra and just slap on a straight exhaust and turn up the boost without upgrading the fuel and tuning it. It only takes one bad detonation to shatter the apex seals and send them flying through your motor.
