Pictures of my on going build...400+ whp inside!
Well, im in the process of building a 450+ whp 1.6L and it's in the shop currently but anywho...here is a picture I snapped today of it, obviously very dirty and not done. http://i53.tinypic.com/2a0gq69.jpg

Been waiting for this!
|
How happy are you with your ARTech manifold? Did you get a downpipe from him too?
Also, what fitting did you use to connect your AFPR to your factory hard line? Look sphethcial. |
I'm very happy with the ARTech manifold, yes I did receive a downpipes from him too. They're just hardline adapters, I am getting rid of them though because i'm going full AN fuel lines.
|
So when is this thing going to run? Looking forward to this....

Hopefully within the next two weeks, and I cannot wait to hear her run either...the cams sound really nice.

Looks great dude. I cannot wait to see some numbers.
1.6 FOR LIFE!!!!!! |
awesome...in for dyno results and driving impressions
|
I forgot to ask-
Why is there a plunger inside your engine? |
If you posted this on M.net everyone would shit themselves.
"ZOMG THAT TURBO IS SO BIG IT WILL LAG FOREVER!!!1!12@ MEANWHILE I WOULD HAVE INSTANTLY ACCELERATED AWAY WITH MY JRSC BECAUSE IT MAKES SOOOO MUCH TOOOORQUE" |
I have a 'plunger' holding up my hood because I don't have a hood prop, actually it's a stick of some sort.
My last turbo was a 60-1 non-BB, this turbo is actually smaller--is DBB, Billet wheel, so M.net can go to hell lol |

I needed a turbo to fit my horsepower goals, the GT30R is a good sized turbo for my horsepower goals but then I ran across the 5857 which is similar size but will flow 600 hp. So I opted for the turbo that will spool faster, and give me more horsepower potentiality to play with. I went with the .63 A/R
Billet wheels are lighter, more aerodynamic. The CNC machined blades allow less material on each blade, and that equates to a higher mass flow rate. There are other reasons the billet wheels are superior, but its too much to explain. http://i26.tinypic.com/4t2b86.jpg |
Heyzues! This man is a baller!
|
dont worry i still believe in the 1.6 too ;D
|
Looks BADASS man!!! Im definitely in for dyno numbers as well
|
More pictures tomorrow!!! Stand by
|
OMFG i love the idle on this car :D sounds sweet, cant wait to get a set of cams like this in my car lol...

Everything is coming together nicely, my intercooler piping is the shortest i've ever seen and should help out a lot with spool, im running a duel backdoor FMIC set up with 3" cold side piping, 2.5" hotside. |
Beautiful. But we need to see more!
|
I attempted to take more but my battery died, more to come!
|
Nice setup!
|
dude get moar pics now!!!11!!ONE!
|
Some more pictures from today, it will be done by early next week and tuning session to follow. More to come!

I dont agree with the smaller rad and the ram style header, but I sure like the thread build.
By the way... that t-shirt still had some use. |
What don't you agree about the ramhorn? It is the most efficient style manifold for my power goals, I had to go to the half radiator because of my intercooler set-up, surprisingly it holds just about the same amount of coolant as my old Ron-Davis, due to this one being about 1" thicker.
EDIT: That t-shirt does have a good use, it's covering my expensive ass explosed head and cams from dust. lol |
Ramhorn is great.
He doesn't know dick about miata's. The radiator however I'm not very fond of either. I'm sure it gets the job done though. |
Yeah, obviously I would rather have my full size radiator but I don't think I will have a problem at all. I have a big spal fan, and re-route so I should be good. I don't autox or track my car, I use it only on nice days and doing some highway pulls...we'll see.

I would if I could, I have a shortnose crank so it doesn't fit :-(

As long as you have a serious puller fan I don't think you will ever have a problem with that radiator. What are the specs on the intercooler? It looks pretty thick. Also, what is the extra breather port in the valve cover for? Crinkle red rules! |

The intercooler is a ETD custom made piece, it has a 3.5" thick core, 12" tall w/Tial BOV coming off the cold side endtank, duel backdoor design.
We do need more high horsepower Miata's in general! I have no idea what the record is for a 1.6L Miata but I am going to try to have the highest recorded horsepower Miata in the country. I think that once I rebuild this motor I will go to a long nose crank also w/a ATI dampener and billet oil pump gears; the short nose crank has never gave me problems at all and I am running a mazdaspeed HV oil pump. My builder recommended two breather ports for my valve cover, I don't know the reason why but what the hell lol...they're both located under the baffle in the valve cover and I removed the stock PVC. |

I was going too but it is painfully close to the manifold.
|
im going to be re-doing my valve cover to have both breather ports in one cell like yours. Very good idea there and hope you dont mind if i steal it! =P
|
Go for it man, shoot me some pictures once you completed it!
|
too much win for one thread!
|
any updates??
|
Tomorrow there will be for sure, I will update this thread when I find out more on the problem I am having on starting it...I do have a new picture of the motor though.
http://i53.tinypic.com/28rlahe.jpg |
i love this thread. im going to copy you hardcore on the valve cover -an lines
|
I hope you dont want that wire over the manifold to last long...or your are hoping to get some sort of insurance money for the total loss from fire damage.
|
No, that wire isn't staying there...it is actually my Oil pressure gauge/sensor line. It just isn't installed yet.
|
What radiator are you running there. Interested in getting it later on.
|
This is awesome.
|
it looks like a Civic Half rad
|
that looks beastly
|
What catch can are you using?

I love youre thread and as someone else said"too much win for one thread:idea:" I,m runnin a bastard euro spec NB with a B6 in South Africa and would love some advice from you:brain: later on if you dont mind?:bowrofl: Keep it up man! |
I think you need brake fluid.
