Default Just a couple NDs out at Laguna Seca

I snapped a couple shitty pictures of some NDs that were running with us at SpeedSF's event over a Laguna Seca on Easter weekend. A lot of the pictures won't upload for some reason, these are some of the few I got. Nothing crazy but it's nice to see the NDs out there tearing it up on the cork screw.

Anyone know what the deal is with the caged ND that is two colors of white and has an exhaust for a bumper? It's nice to see two NDs that aren't cup cars getting full cages.

Probably a salvage car someone bought at auction.

I'm assuming the exhaust is used as a muffler system. Since Laguna Seca has a very low DB limit, a lot of people put on different exhaust or extra mufflers to quiet them down. The reason it's on the outside is for easy installation/removal. That's just my theory, a lot of people also have the exhaust tips that point it away from the DB reader lol

What do you mean by green? As in plants?

Ahhh yeah I thought that's what you meant. Most tracks seems to be pretty desolate as far as plants go. But yeah it was beautiful that weekend.

The two cages look identical, so do a bunch of other stuff on the car. The MX-5 cup cars are shipped plain white with black mirrors last time I checked, I'm guessing those are it. They are starting to pop up at racetracks.

The one with damage I'm guessing was from a previous trip into some sort of tire wall, that one also elected to do the hang an exhaust off the back set up to pass sound. The other one might have either not needed it or bought a quieter system.

Yeah they're definitely very similar, I think they're MX-5 cup cars as well.

The cages don't look like cup cars to me, that is why I was curious if there was a story behind them.

Edit:
Also, the cup car cages are interesting when you look closely at them. When a cage is designed for a single make vs following a rule book that has to cover all kinds of cars, you come to different conclusions.

That's a very good point. And you're right, the cages are definitely different on the cup cars.
