no i feel pretty much the same way.
Brand new ACT HDSS and its fuckin slipping because i didnt resurface my flywheel... Can i borrow that when you are done? |
I need to do the main seal soon, so I'll do the clutch when I'm in there.
Do you guys know what I should budget to resurface the flywheel? One thought I had was to pick up a 1.8 flywheel and have it lightened (I run a 1.6), and then use the new FlyingMiata clutch. Jim |

When I was trying to get the trans and engine to line up the first time around, I would have been more than happy to take a chainsaw to the whole damn thing. Quit for the night, came back the next morning, went together without a hitch. lol

I think I paid 50 bucks to have the flywheel resurfaced
|
my slave cylinder just failed. luckily i was able to make it home :vash:
|
oh man that would suck. I got lucky and had mine fail right there on the jack stands. Ican't say I was happy about it, but all things considering, it couldn't have been a better time.
|
its okay. i live near Rosenthal, i'll pick up a rebuild kit and be fine, was going to bleed the brake Saturday anyways. might as well do the clutch too.
|
See, that is why I always remove the engine and transmission as one. I also have a spare clutch slave cylinder in my tool box. I bought a NAPA one that failed within a couple weeks, so I bought two brand new mazda oem pieces. I always bring it to track days, just in case.
Never skimp on clutch jobs. Its such a fucking pain to get in there, why risk it with cheap clutch parts, ebay bearings, and not spending the $50 to get the flywheel resurfaced. BTW I paid $60 for a resurface. |
I paid $40 to resurface.
did my slave rebuild today, easy breezy. I never had an issue doing a clutch job by dropping the tranny. Can do it in under 2 hours now. |
