Teach me a little about editing a photo?
The weather finally cracked, I had to get out there and rip the streets up a bit.
Most importantly, I wasn't going for epic awesome pics here. I was just out and had my camera and since I spent some time w/ a buffer on the car this past week I wanted to snag a few pics. When I got home and uploaded them I realized the sunlight wasn't right and the image wasn't that realistic to what the car actually looked like in person. I'm shooting with a Nikon Coolpix 6 megapixel. lol I didn't set the camera up (nor do I know how) I only played with the images a bit in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0034_large.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0036_large.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0037_large.jpg Can you tell they were altered? Did I do a decent job? Helpful input? Do you want to see the originals? Thanks! |
Dont mean to be a dick, but there are a lot of issues.
Ive been a serious photograoher for many years so I have very high standards, so dont take offense. The main thing, is dont use photo editing as a crutch. You need to aim for the best photograph possible straight from the camera, and use photoshop for minor sweaking and touching up. The photos are tilted. There is a horizontal plane that can be felt and not seen, which needs to be leveled (not always the horizon, as in your photograph in which the horizon is not flat due to geography) Color balnce is really off. Not really sure what happened there (camera of editor), but its really not right. The first one has too much green, and the other two have too much red. Composition is not terrible, but could use work. Look up the "rule of thirds" and examples of it, then do some experimenting utilizing it. |
Make love to Adobe. That's what my friend says.
She's going to cost you some money though. |
Post originals and let some people play... You might be shocked at what some of these guys can turn out...

Here are two originals. Apparently I never saved the other original before I altered it. This was essentially my first, maybe second attempt to alter any photos. |

Here's my lame attempt. Too lazy to remove the time stamp properly. My HDR program is on my desktop too, otherwise I could probably fake some HDR and the photos might pop better.

Nice effort but you made it look sunset orange instead of patriot red!

Yah, thats what makes a good photo. Extreme contrast, over-saturated colors, and a little black border. |

The funny thing about that is the guy who made that takes 98% of his pics with his nice fancy DSLR in AUTO mode :giggle: |
