Yeah right, them things are nasty. Jared (leatherface) wanted to see how a set of nice wheels look on his MSM. I think it looks badass but he's still in denial.

Whew....I was gonna say!!

airbrush1 05-22-2009 08:43 PM

I still can't jump on the 6ul ship.... I dislike the overall look... but it's nice to be able to fit some tire under the car...

pdexta 05-22-2009 08:47 PM

Aww man, I was bracing myself for the wrath that was sure to ensue. There are plenty of other good reasonably priced 15" wheels out there if you don't like the UL's.

miatamania 05-22-2009 08:52 PM

I <3 6ULs

I need a set. Bronze or nickel that is the question.

leatherface24 05-22-2009 09:38 PM

I love 6ul's on na's. I'm still not fellin em on the nb...

TonyV 05-22-2009 10:13 PM

^u need to get on it J, seriously

u can always go with the bronze if ur stuck on color, or even paint em yourself, god knows u can pull it off. But imo, those nicks look nice.

btw--im an msm noob, are those tails stock or one of your creations?

leatherface24 05-22-2009 10:29 PM

those are morrette tail lights. i got em for 120 shipped on egay. i was close to making my own tail light setup but those popped and fit the bill.

Phil you HAVE to post the "Im a hard ricer" pic. Its seriously one of the funniest damn pics if seen in along time lol

You can have silver or black. Bronze and nickel sold out already. My Bronze should ship mid to late June. Container supposed to arrive 6/6. Woo Hoo! I think that I have decided on the RS3's in 225/45/15 flavor.

levnubhin 05-23-2009 10:12 PM

Got my wheels back today so my car is no longer riced out. God those wheels looked nasty on my car.

Wow, that's a pretty nasty looking combination.

The only thing different your car could get away with visually would be small fender flares and wider rubber.

hustler 05-24-2009 10:19 AM

I'm buying those nittos for my street set of 6ULs. People who deny 6Ul perfection are treasonous cock-gobblers. Seriously, get over yourself...no one could ever love you.

They're the perfect street tire imo, I wont buy anything else. And I agree with you about anyone who dosent like 6ULS

Im not a fan of those MSM wheels but they would look better black. Gold is the new purple yo.

elesjuan 05-25-2009 03:37 PM

Man I like my MSM wheels, but gold? Fucking gross...

Leb; Are your 6ULs Bronze?? I can't really tell from the pictures.. They look badass on that MSM!!

i just dont like em on the NB period. Now here something interesting (at least I thought it was). Phil and I weighed the 6uls in comparison to the MSM wheels and this is what we found........

Wagon wheel:

I guess the big ass tires negate any significant weight difference

Sawyer 05-26-2009 01:57 PM

That's pretty interesting about the weight..

I really like the 6UL's on the MSM. Makes me think about getting some for mine.

cueball1 05-27-2009 05:19 PM

NB's do look better to me with 16" wheels and lower sidewalls. Of course looks and performance are different things.

It's funny, I've had several people ask me on my NA, 12" ride height, nickel 6UL, 225/45 RS2 set up when I'm going to go with some low profile tires.

It does. The bigger tire probably weighs 5-10 pounds more than stock size. At least 185/60/14 vs 205/50/15 is a HUGE difference in weight. Well, not huge, but big.

leatherface24 05-28-2009 09:29 AM

damn big enough imo

emilio700 05-28-2009 11:47 PM

I think the NB looks best with the 15x9 and lowered a bit. The fenders are just that little bit wider than the NA so they seem to want that extra bit of width. The bodywork in general is just that little bit more curvy with a narrower mid section so the 9's on a lowered NB make the whole wheel arches look beefier, more like an S2000, Z4 or C6 IMO. The 15x8's on an NA, if lowered a bit look just as full as the 9's do on the NB I think.

my .02

leatherface24 05-29-2009 09:22 AM

i think you need to finally make a 16in 6ul or 17 for the NB guys :)

QFT! I've seen both the 8's and 9's on NAs and I think the 8's fill 'em up just as well. Now, I just need to get on the band wagon.... ;)

jayc72 05-29-2009 10:35 AM

Totally off topic ... Emilo, when are you going to do another production run of the 15X8 in Nickle?

zoomin 06-01-2009 04:47 AM

Man, why did you have to remind me with this thread that my 6UL's STILL AREN'T HERE YET??!!

Nope.

What drives every new application I have planned is a race tire that people are trying to fit under a stock fender or getting that tire to work better. In the case of the Miata, the 15x9 is it. 6ULR's for the S2000, it's 17x9, 17x10 and 18x10. For the Corvette wheels coming next year, it's 18x10,18x11 & 18x13.

Dunno yet. Focusing resources on getting the 6ULR's into production.

I've still got a set of brand new Nickel 6UL in my basement shod in 225-45 RA1s.

Not for sale, just rubbing it in. :fawk:

Frank

jayc72 06-04-2009 10:26 AM

Ordered a set from Goodwin tuesday. :) Now I just need to figure out what I want to run for tires, since the current 195/50/15 T1-S probably won't work well on an 8" wheel.

I LOVE my 205/50-15 Nitto Neo Gen's. They work perfectly on the street in both wet and dry weather. Best of all they are only a bit over $70 a piece. I'm really surprised that they don't get mentioned more often.

not surprising he denies it considering his taste in taillights.

I'm really excited about putting bronze wheels on the green car...when I score another hardtop.

Gotpsi? 06-05-2009 11:40 AM

I have the 15x9's in bronze but I got to much attention from the cops so I painted them black, they fit really nice with 225-45-15 Hoosier R6's, just look out when they are cold on the street I pulled a massive accidental drift through an intersection in down town last week an am lucky there were no cops around.
