Default Finally! Garage is done!

Well I know that nothing is ever done, but finally completed a big project. Flooring done two years ago, garage door work late last year, and finally ordered it and put it together this past weekend.

Love the E30 too, and how your garage door buffs the ceiling to create more room. I had a friend do that and it saved him a lot of money compared to adding another bay. So he has his Delorean live upstairs above his Vette. And no the stainless steel car does not leak Brit fluids on the plastic car.

Depends on the height of the two cars. I think minimum height is height of both cars + 6 inches or so. If you are not storing a car up top, then really doesn't matter, but your lift height will be restricted. You will also have to take into account any soffits/garage door/etc... I had to have a soffit moved and the garage door tracks changed to give me the max headroom, but I have a good 11 feet so a good amount of space. Go to www.gregsmithequiptment.com and they have a FAQ about how to measure your space, etc...

Euro bumpers on one, and a slicktop on the other? Nice e30's man!

Are you on r3v/e30tech?

What made you decide to go with a storage type of lift over a two post lift; on which you can do a lot of work? I'd take any lift though!

Sweet E30, really regret selling mine.

he wanted long term storage, so 2 poster isn't good/safe for that.

Euro bumper one is a buddies with a cage/5-lug/s50 built for the track where as mine is the slicktop sedan DD.

I am on both forums with the same s/n.

I'd have loved a two post, but the footprint was too wide. The four poster is just over 9ft wide so it fits in one bay with room to spare whereas a two post is just under 12ft wide and encroached on the 2nd bay in a major way making parking a car there not possible, so it didn't make sense. As Scott said, I also plan on using it in the winter for storage, and I have heard that it is not good to leave your suspension hanging unsprung for months at a time which would happen with a two post lift. Ideally, sometime in the future, a midrise on the other side would be nice.

As for the E30, get another one. Even better, you canucks have much greater numbers of iX and even touring models without all that federalization crap!
