I have to start in 3rd gear or that happens.

Jeff_Ciesielski 04-20-2009 01:12 PM

Meh, at least it was only one :P

cueball1 04-20-2009 01:57 PM

Whoa. At least it happened in spectacular fashion. No halfway for that guy. Hey guys, watch my wheel explode!

That RX7 vid always makes me laugh. I can watch it over and over and it never gets any less funny.

Turbo_4 04-20-2009 04:06 PM

Cspence 04-21-2009 12:21 PM

Qckslvr 04-21-2009 02:58 PM

that RX7 vid is great :D

naarleven 04-27-2009 10:25 PM

That rx7 guy is local round here. Supposedly got the wrong lugs.

He's also supposedly a nice buy dumbass dude.

gospeed81 04-27-2009 10:30 PM

I always wondered what the story was with that...

So wrong lugnuts? Size? Thread pitch?

Still crazy to watch every time...talk about damage!

kotomile 04-27-2009 10:37 PM

Any possibility there's a high-res version of the original pic I could snag?

mrtonyg 04-27-2009 11:27 PM

You have got to be a real dumb ass to install the "wrong lug nuts".

I mean, come on, don't you feel as you are installing them that there is a bit too much play or the opposite...they just too tight and don't thread in properly.

As far as the photo from the OP...wow, that was a photographers dream right there! Great photo!

You'd think that.. my friend who is a self proclaimed "DSM kid" put the wrong lugs on one side of his car before I stopped him, he completely destroyed the studs, couldn't get the correct lugs on. So logically he puts the wrong lugs back on since they now "fit". This guy also rolls around without a thermostat because it's too expensive/hard to change...

He someday hopes build his car up by himself to 600WHP
We dont talk much anymore.

That RX-7 video is pretty old, and from what I remember he bought those wheels/tires right before the video, and the shop installed the wrong lug nuts, whoops.

skidude 06-05-2009 01:25 PM

I heard the lugs were the english size and they threaded on and tightened down but didn't hold (clearly).

SayNoToPistons 06-19-2009 01:56 AM

The shop gave him the wrong lug nuts. Not the owners fault.
