Default new to import scene

HI, I am very ne to the import scene I am an offroad guy who stumbled on a turbo Miata that my wife had to had. its a 95 M edition with 90k from California. BEGI 2554 turbo kit, frog arms, kyb coil overs and it goes on. I am in need of a new turbo and knowledge on the car itself. I now apologize for my ignorance and hope to hear your feed back thanks

Well if it's Cali, you're gonna have to decide if you would rather try to stick with the CARB bandaids or go to a standalone where you'd have to revert to stock to get it smogged. There are plenty of arguments about the pros and cons of each, that's probably where I'd start. I assume you've got either an RRFPR or some p-p-p-p-powercards.

It already has 440cc injectors with the Xede Engine Controller. In NH I do not need to get it smogged due to its older than 1996 and OBD1. what are your thoughts

Ah, I was confused by the 'from California' part. I don't know anything about the Xede. That could be a good thing because not many are complaining about them, or a bad thing because nobody uses them anymore. Can't tell you which unfortunately.

so not knowing what the motor sounds like and the turbo being junk I dismantled the turbo, took an old pan and cut out the bottom to block off the opening of the turbo so I can atleast hear it run. I have to pick up a woodruff for the crank tomorrow mournig and our the old timing belt on to fire it. I would rather spend a few bucks before spending the money on a new belt, water pump and turbo.

Redneck engineering!!!! I will let you know how it runs

Don't forget to reinstall the valvecover.

That is, assuming there's oil in the engine.
