1.8 Turbo'd miata in PNW
Hey guys/gals,
I am new to turbo'd cars and excited to finally have some power! I currently have two miatas (one NA na 1.6 "blue" trying to sell right now, and one NA 1.8 Turbo'd "red"). I just flew down to Cali from Kirkland, Washington to pick up the red 1.8 Turbo, and absolutely LOVE the car! I will probably end up asking some stupid questions at some point or another so please ignore my ignorance, I am doing my research and trying to learn as much as I can as quickly as possible. Please feel free to give me any suggestions/information/ (what you would do differently) if you see anything out of place off the top of your head. Always looking to improve the car for track/daily status. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...9.jpg~original http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...2.jpg~original http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...f.jpg~original http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...3.jpg~original http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...3.jpg~original |
My only question at the moment is the previous owner has an angled down pipe coming off the t3 turbo and I want to get an S-shaped down pipe to increase airflow and smooth out the angled 90degree cuts that are on their currently..... any suggestions?

Welcome fellow NW'er. Pie cuts never work great on downpipes, they generate a lot of heat. If you don't have a welder and some fab skills, you're kind of SOL until you find someone who does. It's definitely a good goal to get rid of it though.
Can you get a good shot of the manifold for us? Maybe an FM or BEGI DP will work with a little modification. |
Welcome Austin! I was wondering if you were on here or not after joining the MiataNW fb group. Is Matt on here too?
