Default New MX5 owner from Ontario.

Hello everyone, I recently acquired a 1991 1.6L Miata from a family friend. I have always loved these cars, and the first time I drove it I was in love. Seriously one of the funnest cars I've ever driven, even though it is fairly slow. I have a fairly extensive Subaru background, this is the first project that is not a Subaru, really looking forward to it.

As far as goals, I already own a circuit car so I am looking to build my own weekend drift car. I have worked on countless friends drift projects but this one will be my first personal one. I am no stranger to a wrench, so I was looking into every possible option for power plants. At first I was really into the idea of a SR swap, but it seems to be more work then it's worth. I think cost wise, a turbo setup on the stock motor might be the best. I have lots of time to decide on what I want, as I will not be able to work on the car till spring time. I will do as much research and resource gathering as possible over the next few months. Mind you I am not trying to build some Formula D purpose built machine, just looking to have some fun sliding around the track with some friends.

A little background on myself; I am a 20 year old student at UBCO in Kelowna British Columbia, all my car's besides my Legacy which I daily are back in Ontario. I run a small business doing sign making, graphic design and vinyl wrapping. It's not much but it funds my projects and pays for school. I have built a couple projects, both my own, as well as helping out friends. My first car was a 2004 Subaru WRX. It was an awesome daily and road course car. I didn't do much to it besides bolt ons, suspension and some exterior. My second car is my current DD, its a RHD Subaru Legacy wagon twin turbo. I kept the motor completely stock for reliability and did some minor suspension and wheels. My current track car is my 1995 Impreza 2door. It currently has a Crawford Performance motor with a PPG dogcut transmission which puts 450awhp at 430wtq. It has and endless list of mods, but widebody, Work XD9's, and KW V3's with Whiteline sways/bushings to keep it stuck around corners. Super fun car, its just annoying I always have people trying to race me on the street, I just let them go. Not worth losing license/hurting someone else.

Anyways, looking forward to talking and learning from you guys. Here is the only picture of my Miata I have. It's beside my Subaru in my fathers garage sleeping for the winter
