1999 Black Sport Model, 155k miles

Howdy from Colorado.

After selling my 1991 Miata when having kids, I've just gotten back into the Miata game with a 1999 Sport model.

So, about that ... The VIN sticker in the passenger's doorwell says S or Sport and, when I mic'ed the sway bars, they do meet the specs of the Sport model. But ... the car doesn't have the rear spoiler and it was lacking the front strut-tower brace (though I have since fabricated my own). Someone checked all of the option boxes except ABS, so power steering, AC, power windows and mirrors, leather interior, etc. Kind of a mixed-up Sport model, I think.

P.O. did several mods: lowered about 2" with Jackson Racing springs (very stiff and possibly suckish), 17"x7" wheels, 205.17.40 tires, rebadged everything "Miata" to "Eunos," replaced Bose stereo with P.O.S. radio (who does that?), installed a twin-hoop style bar and ... my favorite ... put on dual exhaust with blown-out glasspacks.

Today, I'm installing some Spintechs. I'll post before and after vids of the difference in exhaust sound. Seriously, it hurts my ears to drive the car now because it is so loud.

Future mods: FMII Voodoo later to be upgraded to Hydra Nemesis, big brakes, "real" rollbar, some chassis bracing, engine rebuild with forged rods and pistons down the road as turbo power comes on, maybe FlexFuel kit.

Anyway, I'm glad to be on the forum with you hooligans.

Pics to follow.

The majority of us will highly advise to not go the FM Voodoo route.

No Voodoo? I have much reading to do. Thanks for the advice.

I am going to guess...

The recommendation will be FM no-electronics kit mated with a megasquirt. If you can afford a Hydra, I would go MSpnpPRO or one of the plug and play units from MSlabs because it has all the features you could want PLUS is plug and play.
