it's a 91 as stock as stock can be minus suspension and DIY intake.

I could go into some big, long tirade about starting my career as a "cleaner" for the iceman, then going out as a freelance mercenary, and possibly discuss that time I had to kill 4 prison guards with my bare hands when escaping the POW camp in Laos, but then you could just fix the problems here and save me the key-strokes.

SO, let me start over.

I'm 20, going to school, and broke as any other college student out there. I'm from Socal (orange county) and I've been a miata owner for 4 months now. It is a silverstone 91. I got it for 3k with everything in pretty much perfect order. Shifts smooth, engine runs strong, new top, new paint, clean interior, etc.

I'm coming over from CR.net because I realized that if I wanted to learn more about turbos and tuning, this would be a better place as it is dedicated to those two topics.

I'm trying to figure if I should go FI, or NA, or just leave it as it is.


Oh, and hustler, if I pissed you off, then your fault. It's not like it was intentional and you should know that. Sorry if you have a short temper, but let's try to be mature about this, yeah? No hard feelings.

If you want complete reliability, stay NA. If you want fun go turbo. If you keep boost low and use bandaids, your good for reliability too.

But if you are going electronic and high boost. With no money and having to tune it yourself. It can be a good or bad decision, and very costly. Clutch $300, Wideband $225.00, MS brainack $450-$500.

Bandaids can come with the used kit or separately, $50-75 used FPR, MSD or Bipes $50-$125. 1.8L injectors $40-$60. 8-9 psi.
You really need the wideband anyway. And then you wouldn't need to spend the $75 on dyno time.
Or $75 for a half and hr on dyno to make sure AFR is correct.
