Bay Area newb

Greetings!
Just saying hi. I have been lurking since i picked up my miata couple years back. Finally getting some turbo stuff ordered and been visiting the site more often; thought it would be good to make a post somewhere to get a post count started :) I have a 96' M, it's my favorite toy. Just ordered a trackspeed efr setup and getting excited. I will certainly be reaching out to the community in the coming months looking to get some advice as I work towards my goals. This will be my second go at a turbo build, i did a budget setup on my old civic several years back. Hope to build this into a reliable car that can take some occasional track abuse (just like everyone else in this thread it seems). That's my intro, thanks for reading this far, hello everyone! I am not much of a photographer and few photos exist of this car, here is a couple shots from earlier this year with a bit of a funky ride height. Attachment 229559 Attachment 229560 |
Welcome! What part of the Bay Area are you in?

Thanks nigelt! I am out in the walnut creek/concord area.

TSE EFR is a great call for track abuse. There's a weekend a Laguna Seca on 12/30-31 if you want to give it a pre-turbo shake down. I see you've got the roll bar on there already so you're good to go!

Thanks for the tip. I see that is hosted by SpeedSF, decent group? I will consider it! I think the car is ready for a day at the track been adding things over the last year. I am beginner class for sure, only one day of on track experience at this point. Went out to a GGLC trackday at laguna what is now a couple years ago. Are you attending this event by chance?

I haven't done an event with Speed SF before, so I can't comment. It seems like they do pictures for free, so if you would have paid for pictures it nets out to half the price of other groups. I'll be there!
