Colipto's beat 1.8 Miata going Turbo - Boston, MA

Hello Everyone,
Figured I'd introduce myself to the community as I've mainly been stalking and reading the forums. About me: I am 23 years old with a hobby in games, technology, and cars! I live in northern mass (30 min from boston) Money is no problem for me as I don't have any commitments and I have a decent job as a Network Engineer I've loved Miata's since I raced them online while playing need for speed underground 2 a few years ago(still a teen). Ever since then I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to pick one up.. And that i did shortly after my cousin let me ride shotgun in his 350hp+ turbo stock block Honda.. all i could think is I want my own ! Not too big of a fan of FWD as I am coming from a 04 Accord coupe with around 240hp ( Has been totaled, no fault ) - I've always been interested in the J30 swap but now that i don't have that car anymore I've moved towards turbo. - My HP goal that I am pursuing is somewhere between 240-270hp on this car. In the future i can see myself pushing the car to 350-400hp. Planning for Auto-X, Track, 1/4 drags etc.. Would like to get somewhere into the 11-12's eventually. (All this is new to me, I'm a quick learner though!) A very beat up 1996 Miata with 254K on the odometer. (257k and counting) My motivation for a miata completely overthrew any common sense while buying this car... However I plan to stick with it because its still my dream car a the end of the day. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458171384 Dropping off at the body shop with its new hardtop! The issues on the car when i first obtained it.. Rust (NH Car, Single Owner) Paint, Transmission, Driveshaft, Muffler, Exhaust, Wheel bearings.. Lots more ETC. For 1000, still a bargain (Came with legit 14 inch panasports) Jump ahead a few months.. I am daily driving the car and its running better then ever at this point. Paint has been fixed, rust fixed for the most part and the car just had a timing belt kit (oil pump, rings, belt, tensioner etc) serviced through my shop ( If i can avoid spending time, Id rather spend money ) needless to say I rarely turn wrenches unless I have to - ( I am not capable of doing engine work, trans work etc mainly because no room / garage to complete the jobs. ) However its NP thanks to my shop - I'll handle the electrical side of things and the smaller jobs https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1458171384 This is how she currently sits on Tein Flex - I am much more interested in the Software / Electronics side of things so i have picked up a MS3X from Braineak , a AEM UEGO from amazon and will begin tuning soon enough. Also looking forward to the MKTurbo Kit which i also purchased though lars - Cant wait to start boosting.. Patience sucks! |
