Newbie from California - Building a Locost
I'm in the process of building a Lotus 7 replica ("Locost"). I'm using a 2001 Miata donor and utilizing the 1.8L engine, transmission and differential. Much of the other components will also be from the Miata (e.g., brakes, steering box).
I decided not to use the stock ECU since much of the features will not be incorporated from the stock Miata. Therefore I'm currently putting together a MegaSquirt MS3 with 3X addition. Hope to use the variable valve timing. The electronics of the ECU are somewhat new to me so I'm really learning this part. I eventually hope to add a turbo to the engine so I'm hoping this site will provide much help in that area.
