I bought the car two years ago, twenty five hundred and she was an automatic then. took me about seven days to pull the engine and replace all the seals and gaskets and switch out the auto.
SNC no runout at all, runs like a top... But building a 1993 engine on the side now. Going to put a FM Stage one turbo on that.

here's the stuff ready for the machine shop. Also I'm slowly putting together a MS Diypnp. That has been a fun project;
I don't plan on installing the rebuild engine until next winter. The car's a blast! even with the 95 h.p. engine.
I might put the FM turbo kit on the little SNC engine just for the fun of it.

Solid plan... I'm subbed. My car should be finished on a similar timeline

stock internal rebuild? Should consider rods only while you have it apart!

Now, I'm not going for huge H.P. here. Just happened to get this set when I bought the 93 long block. Why not put them in
I want the turbo so I will no longer have to down shift to third gear while pulling the grades over in Eastern Oregon and northern Cal. and NV.
What does 5,000 feet Ele. do to 95 hp ?? feels like 75 maybe? someone must know that answer

I'm going to put an ATI damper on the long nose. This car being Automatic has the vTPS and mellow cams. I wanted to just install the long nose crank into this stock block. But building another engine on the side, keeps this thing on the road for this driving season.

The FM2 kits are fun. I'm sad to know I will be letting mine go soon. Hopefully someone will have tons of fun as I watch it go off I to the sunset.

Joz, Looking forward to installing everything! Sorry to see you're letting go. The Whole car or just the turbo system? Give it a good deep clean! everything sells better when good and clean.

Here it is, this is the 90. I'll be ditching the heat foils on the 93 install.
I'm really happy with the Power, I'm not getting run over while pulling grades
No catch cans yet, will install when I pop in the 93 engine.

The 93 engine does have stock pistons with Mazda rings, Eagle rods, Standard Crank, Boundary Oil pump, plus the Super Damper on the nose.

Pretty much ready to install
So, the 90 engine runs great, still using the stock ecu. I passed DEQ just after the turbo install. I blasted down to Reno a couple times, with road temps near 120-40 degrees. That's why I'm going with the Qmax reroute on the 93 engine. The engine could have an aftermarket ecu, But I plan on starting out with the 90 stock ecu.
What else, The 93 Head has the 1 over supertech valves and new Mazda valve seals. I'm going to try another used 5 speed trans, see if the bearings are quieter. I have the FM crossflow Koyorad and want the stage 1 fans for that.
That's about it, waiting till after the holidays to wreck the garage for a couple weeks.

Wow that is looking so shiny. I'm jealous dude. My block is still waiting at the machine shop.. its been there since September!

That was a smart idea to boost the stock block first.. Now you can just beat on it until you're ready for the new one.. good stuff.

I had been waiting for the turbo kit for a while. I just couldn't Not install it on the engine. I put about 3 thousand miles on the turbo engine last summer.
I'm thinking about putting the car on a dyno now and then after the 93 engine. Just so, I can answer the question everyone asks about the car.
Plus, I think I'll swap a LNC into the 90 engine after I pull it out of the car. If I can find a LNC that's in good shape. I think there are just as many Hammered LNCs as SNCs out there
