De-Noobing
Hi all. I've been reading some posts here for awhile doing some general research for a potential upcoming project. After seeing some threads I figured I should get this out of the way in case I need some questions answered down the road. I've read through some builds here that seem to be very similar to what I would like to do initially. Which is something in the 200-230ish hp range on a reasonable 1-2k budget. I'm in the process of selling a bike to pay some bills, but might hold out a few dollars to make my 1999 miata a bit more exciting to drive.
I don't really have any questions currently to initiate the hazing as I have currently been able to resolve all the questions I have had by searching. But something that would be really awesome for me would be to be able to meet someone in person who has done a similar project, and possibly crawl over/under their car just to get a better mental image of what I'm getting into before I pull the trigger on this project. I'm in Jefferson City, MO not likely there is anyone too close to me, but I might make a road trip and buy somebody lunch some Saturday in exchange for turbo miata wisdom. I like the site, keep up the good work. I suppose if nothing else this long winded post that basically says nothing might be reason enough to commence the flaming. BTW --:brain: --- I love this guy what the hell happened to him? |
You suck. Drive to Tampa and buy me a sandwich.
That's all I've got for you really... I fail at flaming. Welcome. Good intro post. Add your location to your details so it shows up under your name and you should be good. Good luck. Edit: By :brain: do you mean Braineak or Pinky and the Brain? |

Welcome. Good first post.
I can say that even $2K will will be tough to hit those power levels. I did a complete DIY setup including my own manifold and used parts and was closer to $3K. ECU was $1K on it's own. I'll wave when I drive by next week. Heading to Joplin, then Fayetteville, then Springfield for work and then back home. Alas, turbo has been removed. |
Good luck with it. I have a buddy named Josh Bacal that lives near there, if you know him. Welcome!
