de-noobing myself

Although I dont know if thats possible without some time...

Hi, I was directed here by 18psi (in a friendly manner of course) so here goes.

My name is Eric, I have an 87 Mazda that is truly a mongrel of a car. It was 4WD, then FWD (took out the driveshaft) now its RWD.

The motor was mounted East West, now its North South. Initially it had an E5 1.5L carby, then a B6T 1.6L Turbo, BPT 1.8L Turbo now a BPD (Mazda GTR)

I started with 13" rims, then progressed to 14s, 15s, 16 then 17" rims. The latest set I have for my car are 17x7 and 17x10s for the rear wrapped in goodyear GS-D3 F1 315/35R17

I have owned the car for about 5 years now, its still not complete. Some of the latest modifications that have happened/are happening are -
R32 Nissan Skyline Front Subframe,
A31 Nissan Cefiro lower arms,
S13 Nissan Sylvia front hubs,
Nissan GTST front 4 pot calipers with slotted discs,
W58 Toyota Supra 5 speed Gearbox,
Toyota Hilux (4 Runner)Rear Diff,
Powertrax No-slip auto diff lock,

Plenty more I havent mentioned, the project has been on hold for a while and there wont be much progress in the near future but I will update when more pics come to hand.

I actually came across this site when I was searching for solid lifters. I only posted on here coz I have miata parts and the aftermarket parts for the BP motors are the same.

I hope you enjoy the pics, feel free to ask questions or tell me how much you hate the way I have butchered a perfectly good mazda.

haha, thanks man, funnily enough, I do get that alot :D

Its a Mazda thing for me, but I think I go a little bit more extreme than most

Eric can you put your location in your profile? I noticed that the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, leading me to believe that you are possibly in England? I have to say I really like the look of that car. I almost want to go out and find me one to DD now.

Badass. Why did you drop the 4WD part? AWD would have been sick. I wanna build an AWD miata one day.

ON AC1D 11-16-2008 04:39 PM

I dropped the 4WD box because by the time I made it to the dyno I only had 1st, 2nd and 4th. The other two gears had all the teeth stripped of the gear sets. Only made 300hp @ 4 wheels in 4th.

My car is in NZ, I am in Australia earning money to finish it.

I have added more pics here https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t28179/#post330882

That's not our lane, if you want someone to bitch about cutting up a Mazda, you'll have to go to dotnet. :giggle:
