De-noobing myself!

Hey guys, my name is Justin, i'm 17 and live in Phoenix Arizona, Just bought my first car, a red 1992 Miata with 152k miles. I've been lurking around here for a few months reading a lot and finally decided to make an account. I've had it since august and haven't done anything at all engine wise, besides spark plugs, and wires. I also replaced a crossover tube which caused the car not to run because it was after the MAF and caused a vacuum leak, at least that's my understanding, since it was after MAF the car didn't know how much fuel to put in and turned off unless i gave it constant throttle, I also replaced the fuel pump because I originally thought it was the problem. Well I'm rambling on now. Currently I'm trying to get it painted because it has original paint from 1992 and it has been an Arizona car the whole time so the paint is terrible. I'm going to get a quote from Maaco to see how much it will be. Unlike the engine, i've done a few things to get the car looking better, In my opinion of course, but I love it. Well, here it is. Super excited to finally start joining the forums and getting and giving feedback. Thanks for your time guys!

Welcome.
While you have the car in the paint booth, make sure they take that sticker off your windshield while they're at it.

Welcome to the forum. What are your plans for the car?

Well as of right now my plan is to boost it by early next year. I'm a broke high school student so i'm gonna have to go off the beaten path and make my own setup or base it off someone else's build staying as cheap as possible. Im probably going to go T4 with a Kraken Manifold and Speeduino ECU. I personally know someone with this setup and he has experience using and tuning Speeduino.

I'm going to give you some advice that you probably won't be willing to listen to until you're around 25.
All of us have been there, but if you learn this lesson now, you will be much more successful than your peers.
Not just relating to cars, but to life in general.

Save up your money until you can afford to do it right.

Kraken stuff is fine, but you have tons of expensive mods to make before you should even consider purchasing your first turbo bits.
Learn to budget, make supporting mods, drive it as is for a bit and learn about cars, then turbo.
If at any point in time you are watching broke and boosted and thinking it's a fine idea to do it that way, you are wrong.
Step away from YouTube and do some reading on this forum.
If you do it the way I'm describing, you will succeed
If not, you'll be very likely to have a pile of shit on your hands.
