Hello MT,

Entering the miata scene coming from the mini cooper arena (had a SC'd JCW, for those familiar). I finally put my priorities in line and landed on a little '91, mid-1.8 swap (1994 engine + 5spd, some undocumented jdm). Took a risk and bought it, put it all together and got it running this winter. Man, I'm sure glad I did. The mods list is already lengthy, but you can assume that because I'm here, I plan on some FI.

This would be the first time putting a turbo kit together with my own hands, and I have plenty of reading to do yet, but I'm confident in my goal of 225bhp (which is what my MINI cranked out).

Yurs trooly,

Screwdriver

Welcome to the forums! Car sounds like a good base for your plans. Stick around and start a build thread, there's a lot of really great options for turbo setups that would meet your needs and the best option depends on what you value in a product.

Edit: Also just in case you havent, look into upgrading to a 1.8 diff/axles. The 1.6 units are known to fail even with stock power.

Bbro,

Thanks for the input. I've heard the same of the 1.6 diff. My plan is megasquirt pnp/fuel pump/cop ignition/injectors, then the diff/axles, then the turbo kit.
